Antonio Bryant's Career May Be Over

Nov 8, 2014 4:20 AM

The career of Antonio Bryant could be in jeopardy because of recurring knee problems, according to sources. Bryant struggled with knee issues last season. The Bengals released Bryant unexpectedly on Sunday. "He barely practiced in training camp and now this happens," said a league source. "The guy can't stay healthy at this point. He gets to the point that he's feeling good, then it swells on him again. When that keeps happening, that's a very strong indication that there are structural problems."

Antonio Bryant Not Expecting Bengals To Release Him

May 16, 2014 10:13 PM

Reacting to a tweet from Newsday that said the Bengals are preparing to cut Antonio Bryant, Lamont Smith said he has not heard from the club and he thinks he would so they could reach an injury settlement before releasing his client. ?That would be the protocol,? Smith said. ?Because you would think they would call and say, ?This isn?t going the way we thought and let?s try and do something.? From what I understand, things have progressed the past week.? If the Bengals are planning to cut him, Bryant doesn?t know it, either, because a couple of hours before the tweet he talked to the Cincinnati media Thursday and said he?s encouraged by the progress of the knee he originally injured in Tampa last preseason and says he?s ?really close.?

Owens Has 67 Yards Against Eagles

Sep 20, 2014 1:16 PM

Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens caught three passes for 67 yards in the team's 22-9 win over the Eagles on Friday night. Philadelphia is one of Owens' former teams. His relationship with the team didn't end well following a Super Bowl appearance in 2005. "According to sources and anybody that analyzes talent or what-have-you: I'm 36, I've slowed down, I don't have it anymore," Owens said. "I'm a different person. I'm very talented, I keep myself in shape. So everybody can think I've slowed down. If they want to play me like that, that's fine."

Owens Claims Cowboys Didn't Release Him 'Because Of Talent'

Oct 14, 2014 9:42 PM

Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens believes he should still be playing for the Cowboys. Dallas released Owens last offseason and he caught on with Buffalo for a season before signing with Cincinnati last month. "A lot of people know what happened," Owens said. "It was a tough decision for Jerry [Jones]. I think if Jerry had the ultimate decision, then I would be there. By no means do I feel that I left that team because of talent. Obviously, there have to be some other factors. "Other than that, I feel confident about myself and what I can still do on the football field even at the age of 36." Jones has claimed that chemistry issues didn't factor into his decision to cut Owens less than a year after the receiver signed a four-year, $34 million contract extension. "You have to take the bitter with the sweet, and you move on," Owens said. "Do I think I should probably be there? Yeah. But that's not the case."
