The Cowboys and Bengals will play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 8 it was announced on Wednesday.
It's the first time Dallas will play in the league's opening preseason game since 1999. Cincinnati last played in the game in 1988.

Lewis Wants Bengals To Re-Sign Tank, Roy Williams
Marvin Lewis hopes the Bengals re-sign 2009 newcomers Tank Johnson and Roy Williams.
"Oh yeah, they came in and did a great job and provided what we were looking for," said Lewis.
Bengals Aren't Interested In Owens
Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has made it known that he'd love to see Terrell Owens sign with the team.
However, sources told Newsday that Ochocinco is the only person in Cincinnati talking seriously about the free-agent wide receiver.
Owens isn't expected to return to the Bills after completing a one-year deal.
Maualuga Won't Miss Offseason Program
Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga is not expected to miss the start of the team's offseason program.
Cincinnati's program begins on March 29.
Maualuga, who pleaded guilty to drunken driving early this month, will check into the Betty Ford Rehabilitation Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. soon.
On Jan. 29, Maualuga was arrested after police said he crashed into two parked cars and a parking meter in northern Kentucky.
Report: Bengals, Graham To Talk Next Week
The Bengals haven't completely closed the door on kicker Shayne Graham's future in Cincinnati.
The team wants to talk to Graham's new agent, David Dunn, at next week's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, according to Bengals.com.
The Bengals have worked out six kickers during the offseason and signed Dave Rayner.
"We have to talk to Shayne and see where he's at," special teams coach Darrin Simmons told Bengals.com. "It has to be a deal that's good for both sides. I've talked to him once to let him know we were signing Rayner. I didn't want him to read about it on the Internet. We didn't talk much about his mindset, but I know he feels badly. A lot of people do."
Andre Smith Has Foot Surgery
Bengals right tackle Andre Smith underwent foot surgery last week.
Smith's rookie season with the Bengals was first held up by a lengthy contract holdout, and then a fractured left foot he suffered two days after his holdout ended.
He returned to play the final six games of the season, making one start.
Smith was the sixth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Bengals Sign Rayner, Graham May Be Done
The Bengals signed kicker Dave Rayner after a tryout on Friday, which may spell the end for Shayne Graham in Cincinnati.
Graham's franchise tag number is close to $3 million.
"It's going to be an ongoing evaluation where we are going to bring some free agents in and see where Shayne falls in comparison to them," special teams coach Darrin Simmons said before Rayner was signed.
"We'll also have to see the likelihood of signing a free agent or possibly getting a kicker in the draft and going that route."

The Bengals have agreed to terms with wide receiver Matt Jones on a one-year deal, a source told the Associated Press.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that his one-year deal would pay him approximately $700,000.

Should Dump Chad
Former Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason isn't a supporter of wide receiver Chad Ochocinco.
According to the Dayton Daily News, Esiason said during the Pro Bowl that he's "not a fan of Ochocinco" and that Chad is all about Chad ? not the team.
Esiason went as far as to say that Cincinnati should rid themselves of the wide reciever, like the Cowboys and Eagles did with Terrell Owens.
