Saints Match Josh Hill's Offer Sheet With Bears

Mar 27, 2016 5:40 PM

The New Orleans Saints have matched an offer sheet Josh Hill signed with the Chicago Bears.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan reported earlier this week that the deal is worth up to $7.5 million over three years, with $3.25 million guaranteed.

The Saints' decision was only mildly surprising. They are tight on salary-cap space and have already signed tight ends Coby Fleener and Michael Hoomanawanui this offseason.

Patriots Agree To Trade With Bears For Martellus Bennett

Mar 16, 2016 7:15 PM

The New England Patriots have agreed to trade for Martellus Bennett of the Chicago Bears.

The Patriots will likely swap mid to late round picks in exchange for Bennett.

New England will now again have the luxury of double tight end sets as they did during the tenure of Aaron Hernandez when he was paired with Rob Gronkowski.

C.J. Anderson Chose Dolphins Despite More Money From Bears

Mar 14, 2016 3:12 PM

The Chicago Bears offered C.J. Anderson more money but he chose to sign a four-year, $18 million offer sheet with the Miami Dolphins.

The Bears offered $19 million over four years.

Anderson chose the Dolphins' offer "in large part" because of his familiarity with new coach Adam Gase's offense.

C.J. Anderson Receiving Interest From Dolphins, Bears, Pats, 49ers

Mar 11, 2016 1:12 AM

C.J. Anderson is receiving interest from the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

The Denver Broncos underestimated Anderson's value by assigning the low tender of $1.671 million. The Broncos can match an offer but rival teams won't have to worry about giving up a draft pick in a deal for Anderson.

A $2.553 million tender from the Broncos would have come with a second round tag.

Anderson was outplayed by Ronnie Hillman while battling injuries early last season but re-emerged in the second half.

Bears Working With Martellus Bennett On Trade

Mar 4, 2016 5:58 PM

The Chicago Bears are working with the agent of Martellus Bennett to find a trade partner.

Bennett is under contract for one more year, but the tight end boycotted the entire voluntary offseason program in 2015 in search of a new deal that never materialized.

Ryan Pace and John Fox both brushed off questions about Bennett's uncertain future with Chicago.

"I talked to him right at the end of the season," Pace said at the NFL scouting combine. "I haven't talked to him recently. Really with him, he's under contract. We have a lot of players that aren't under contract, so that's where our focus is right now."
