Von Miller 'Would Have Taken Less' To Sign With Cowboys

Jul 8, 2022 9:23 AM

Von Miller says he would have taken less money to sign with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency.

The Texas native landed a six-year, $120 million deal with the Buffalo Bills.

According to a report, the Cowboys offered a contract in the five-year, $70 million range. Miller says if the offer was closer to Buffalo's, he would have picked Dallas.

"I told them I was ready to come to the Cowboys," Miller told Dan Pompei of The Athletic. "I would have taken less to go to Dallas because it's Dallas. But I wouldn't take that much less."

Von Miller Envisions Full Six-Year Contract With Bills

Jul 5, 2022 8:37 AM

Von Miller signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills this offseason after winning the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL players, especially stars, rarely see the end of such deals, but Miller envisions himself playing out his deal with the Bills.

"This is a six-year deal, so I'm looking forward to playing the whole thing," Miller said. "I'm trying to play the whole thing out. Tom Brady's done it, Bruce Smith has done it. All the guys that I look up to when it comes to longevity in careers. So I just take it one day at a time, and I'm just gonna take whatever God gives me. My intention is to play the whole thing out. I'm a real sicko when you get to know me. My mindset is different."

Miller turned 33 in March.
