Prank Callers Of Nix-Dominik Face Federal Charges, Potential Jail Time

Oct 31, 2014 10:36 AM

A March prank call of former Buffalo Bills' general manager Buddy Nix and his counterpart with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mark Dominik, has become a more serious situation.

Two 20-year-olds from Plymouth, Massachusetts have received federal charges of intentionally intercepting a wire communication and making a telephone call without disclosing their identity with the intent to annoy or harass the person at the called number.

The penalty carries a maximum of five years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

Prosecutors said Barber and Kaiser then sold the unauthorized recording to Deadspin.

Mario Williams Told Ex-Fiance Of Suicidal Thoughts

Nov 22, 2014 5:37 PM

Mario Williams told his former fiance that he was experiencing suicidal thoughts while also on painkillers in a series of text messages exchanged between the pair while breaking up in November.

Accusing Williams of experiencing "dramatic mood swings" throughout the engagement, Erin Marzouki released a series of text messages as the two are tied in a legal battle over a $785,000 diamond engagement ring.

On the day of the text message exchange, Williams wrote that he took three hydrocodones that morning before the Buffalo Bills' game that day against the New England Patriots.

Williams planned on taking two more hydrocodones on the plane home, which is classified as a narcotic and prescribed to relieve moderate to severe pain.

Marzouki responded by urging Williams to get help.

"Why don't you talk to someone? Clearly you're not happy & if your takin pills that's bad," she wrote.

"I'm still here and always will be," Williams wrote on Twitter on Friday. "I'm too strong for ridicule and the childish extremes those will do to try and taint a persons name when in reality you make me stronger, hungrier and more determined."

Oct 31, 2014 6:38 AM

Doug Whaley has been officially named general manager of the Buffalo Bills.

Whaley, an African-American, becomes the first minority hired for a GM-level or head coaching position this offseason. The NFL received criticism for filling the first 15 openings with no minorities.

Whaley began his scouting career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Whaley replaces Buddy Nix, who stepped away from the position earlier in the week.
