Titans Want To Sign A.J. Brown To Long-Term Deal

Mar 28, 2022 8:54 AM

A.J. Brown is entering the final year of his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans.

Brown will earn $3.986 million in 2022, less than nearly four dozen receivers in the NFL.

Jon Robinson intends to change that at some point in the coming months. He said at NFL's Annual League Meeting that the two sides have had only preliminary talks on a contract extension.

"Right now, we are just trying to get through this free agency period, seeing where we've landed cap-wise," Robinson said.

"A.J. is an important part of what we do. He's a great teammate, he works hard, he's about what we're about. A.J. is a Titan and we want to keep A.J. a Titan. And that's part of our goal this offseason, or whenever that manifests itself, to come to an agreement to keep him around."

Titans Acquire Robert Woods From Rams

Mar 20, 2022 9:09 AM

The Tennessee Titans have acquired Robert Woods from the Los Angeles Rams for 2023 second round pick.

Woods tore his ACL on Nov. 13 and was due a $3.5 million roster bonus from the Rams on Sunday.

Woods became expendable after the Rams signed Allen Robinson II.

The Titans' acquisition of Woods gives them a viable option as the team's No. 2 wide receiver. Tennessee released Julio Jones on Wednesday with a post-June 1 designation.

Teams Submit Two Proposals To Adjust Overtime

Mar 16, 2022 11:09 AM

Teams have submitted two separate proposals to adjust overtime, following months of discussion about the advantage of winning the opening possession.

The proposals have not yet been endorsed by the competition committee, but by rule they can be put to a vote later this month during the annual league meetings.

The Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles have proposed that both teams be allowed at least one possession in overtime.

The Tennessee Titans' proposal calls for both teams to get at least one possession unless the team that opens overtime with the ball scores a touchdown and then converts a two-point attempt.

Titans Eye Ryan Tannehill's Eventual Successor In Draft

Mar 3, 2022 8:32 AM

The Tennessee Titans are committed to Ryan Tannehill in 2022 but they are also preparing for life with a different quarterback.

Tennessee has already met with Nevada quarterback Carson Strong and North Carolina's Sam Howell at the combine.

"There's some in certain drafts that are way out of our reach because they're going to go in the top three or four picks and we pick in the back part of the first round," Jon Robinson said.

"We are trying to find those guys that may be within striking distance that may not come in and unseat, but that we see a future for."
