Henry To Sign With Titans Through 2009

Nov 11, 2014 10:03 PM

Travis Henry and Tennessee Titans have agreed to a four-year deal on principle that will keep the running back in Tennessee through the 2009 season. "We are excited about acquiring a player of this caliber for our roster," said Tennessee general manager Floyd Reese. "Travis is a dynamic back who will help us immediately. The combination of [incumbent starter] Chris Brown and Travis Henry puts us in elite company in terms of talented backfields. I don't know that it will matter who starts, because I envision both players making significant contributions throughout the season."

Deal Is Done, Henry To Tennessee

Sep 29, 2014 1:10 PM

Travis Henry officially became a Titan on Monday after the deal sending him to Tennessee from Buffalo in exchange for a third-round pick in 2006 was finalized. "We're really glad that it's over," Bills president Tom Donahoe said. "Tennessee gave us the best offer and gave us really what we were looking for." Henry had complained about being a back up to the Bills current running back Willis McGahee and as a result, the Bills had been trying to unload Henry for quite some time.

Disgruntled Buffalo Bills running back Travis Henry is happy about his return to Tennessee, the state he spent his formative college years. Though the deal has not been finalized, Henry is already voicing his excitement over playing for the Titans. ?I?m excited about coming back,? Henry told WTVF-Channel 5. ?I?ve got a lot of memories there of playing at UT. It?s going to be fun. I?m very excited to get back to the state and to be a Tennessee Titan.? Henry was a two-year starter in Buffalo, rushing for 1,438 yards rushing in 2002 and 1,356 yards in 2003 for the Bills, but was eventually dislodged as the starting running back last season after Buffalo decided to go with Willis McGahee as its No. 1 running back.

Bills Reportedly Trading Henry To Titans For ?06 Draft Pick

Nov 11, 2014 10:03 PM

The Tennessee Titans have reached agreement in principle on a trade to acquire disgruntled Buffalo Bills running back Travis Henry, and, barring unexpected complications, the deal will be announced early this week, ESPN.com reported. The Titans will give up a third-round draft pick in the 2006 draft in exchange for Henry contingent on Henry passing a Tennessee-administered physical exam. In four seasons, Henry has carried 963 times for 3,849 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also has 103 catches for 691 yards and two scores. Henry has been disgruntled with the Bills since losing his starting job to Willis McGahee last season.

Jaguars And Titans Angle For Henry

Nov 11, 2014 10:03 PM

Despite reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars are close to acquiring Travis Henry, the Tennessee Titans have made the more attractive trade proposal to the Buffalo Bills and are the front-runner in the chase for the disgruntled tailback. Discussions between the Bills and the two most ardent suitors for Henry have been ramped up, and the situation remains in flux as Buffalo officials continue their efforts trade Henry sooner rather than later. The Seattle Seahawks, who had earlier indicated interest in Henry, apparently are out of the hunt. Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio told the Florida Times-Union on Thursday that the addition of Henry, who has been on the trading block for virtually the entire offseason, could be completed "in the next few days or week." "The fact that we have an opportunity to acquire a running back [with] this kind of talent is something we have to look at, [and] so we're looking at it," Del Rio said. "This may or may not happen, but we're protecting our interests, and any time we think we can acquire somebody who can help us, we're going to do that."

Adam Jones Surrenders To Police

Sep 6, 2014 1:09 PM

The Tennessee Titans' top draft pick, cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, surrendered to police Wednesday on charges of assault and vandalism stemming from a nightclub altercation. Jones surrendered to Nashville police at Titans headquarters Wednesday morning. Jones' lawyer Roger May said he had not seen the arrest warrants but has been told the charges are simple assault and vandalism. Both are misdemeanors. A team spokesman said the Titans were aware of the situation and were monitoring it but had no immediate comment. Nightclub owner Robert Gatti appeared in court before down to swear out the complaint against Jones. Gatti told the court that Jones grabbed his shirt and later struck him. In April, Georgia authorities investigated a report that Jones was involved in a fight in a nightclub near Atlanta in April, but no charges were filed against him in that case. The 5-foot-10 Jones, who played for West Virginia, was the first defensive player taken in the NFL Draft in April.
