Chris Godwin To Miss At Least One Game With Hamstring Injury

Sep 30, 2020 8:35 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without Chris Godwin for at least one game because of a hamstring injury.

An MRI revealed that Godwin suffered a mild pull in Week 3.

Tampa Bay will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and the Chicago Bears the following Thursday night. The quick turnaround from Week 4 to 5 could result in the wide receiver missing two contests.

Godwin leads the Buccaneers with 11 catches this season.

Bruce Arians On Critique: Tom Brady And I Are 'Fine'

Sep 17, 2020 10:43 AM

Bruce Arians criticized Tom Brady following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints, but says his relationship with the quarterback is good.

"Tom and I are fine. I don't really care what other people think. So it's just what he and I think," Arians said. "We left the stadium fine. We showed up today fine. There ain't nothin' to talk about."

Brett Favre said on SiriusXM Radio Tuesday that unless Arians and Brady have an understanding, calling out the quarterback publicly can lead to tension down the road.

"Getting to Bruce Arians' comments, true or not, I think the last person you want to call out after the first game of the year is Tom Brady," Favre said. "Now, maybe they had a mutual truce going into the game, going into the season, 'Hey, I'm going to be hard on you. I want the guys to know we're going to treat you the same even though technically I'm not, so are you OK with it?' If they have that truce, great. If not, I think you are barking up the wrong tree."

Bruce Arians Wants More Targets For Mike Evans

Sep 16, 2020 6:19 PM

Bruce Arians has been honest in his assessment of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following their Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

During his weekly radio show on Tuesday, Arians said he wants more targets for Mike Evans.

Evans dealt with a hamstring injury leading up to the season opener, but played 65-of-70 offensive snaps and Arians said he was "full speed" while getting thrown the ball four times.

"We got to do a better job when we play the Saints of getting Mike in different positions," Arians said. "I think we let him sit there on the backside too much last week and it’s something we’re going to have to address when we play them later on again. ... I never want to come out of a game without 10 targets to Mike, at least."

Tom Brady Still Learning Ahead Of Buccaneers' Opener

Sep 14, 2020 4:26 PM

Tom Brady acknowledged Thursday that he's still learning the nuances of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense and his role as quarterback in it.

"I think there's naturally a way that, your body just does things a certain way that it's done for a long time, without you having to think, and a lot of being a great athlete is not thinking, so the more you're thinking, it's actually slower than if you were just reacting and anticipating," Brady said. "So we're working through that. It's my first game, my first chance to play so, we'll see where we're at. We've got a big test and... there's no room for error. It's a big challenge to start the year."

The Buccaneers will face the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. Brady has faced New Orleans five times in his career, going 4-1.

"It's a big challenge because there's no margin of error when you play a great football team," Brady said. "The Saints have proven themselves to be that for a long time. They [have] a very good offense, a great defense, they're very well-prepared [and] they don't beat themselves."

Leonard Fournette: For First Time, I Have A Quarterback

Sep 9, 2020 9:18 AM

Leonard Fournette is excited to have landed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who signed Tom Brady in free agency this offseason.

The running back was used to facing stacked boxes as the member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"For the first time in my life, I really have a quarterback, so that's an eye-opener for me. Not a lot of pressure is going to come on me," Fournette said.

"Me coming to Tampa made perfect sense. I felt like they had all the keys I needed and vice versa. I can help the team out and also they can help me. I think it's probably one of my first seasons running in probably a six-man box. ... I made sure all of that was in consideration of me coming here."
