Could The Lions Have An Edge On Tampa Bay?

Nov 5, 2014 10:30 AM

The Lions have yet to win a game in 2008, but Jon Gruden thinks they could have an edge against his team because Detroit head coach Rod Marinelli and defensive coordinator Joe Barry are former Bucs assistants. The Lions' defense also includes five former Bucs: tackle Chuck Darby, cornerback Brian Kelly, linebacker Ryan Nece, safety Kalvin Pearson, and end Dewayne White. "The Detroit Lions, they'll know more about us than any team we play all year," Gruden said. "They have a lot of our former coaches and players there. This will be a big game for them.

"I've said it from the beginning, this is the only job I've really ever wanted," Gruden said. "As long as the Glazers will have me, I'll be here. I've got a lot of respect for Tennessee. I grew up down there a little bit. My wife is from there. But this is where I want to be, and I can only make myself that clear."

Cadillac Returns To Practice With Bucs

Nov 5, 2014 10:35 AM

Buccaneers' running back Cadillac Williams returned to practice on Monday, and the team is hoping they'll have him back on the field in the near future. Williams hasn't played since last season because of a lingering knee injury. He wore shoulder pads and participated in contract drills on Monday. "He responded to it. It's exciting," Coach Jon Gruden said. "I've said that for a long time. It's almost like Christmas is here. And Christmas is Wednesday, I hope. "We'll see how he feels. We'll talk to the trainers and the medical people. If my eyes don't deceive me, I think he has a chance to be a player this year, and that would be exciting."
