Vince Williams has informed the Pittsburgh Steelers that he is retiring.

The 31-year-old linebacker played eight seasons with the Steelers after being selected in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL draft.

Williams was initially released by the team in March because of cap constraints, but he was re-signed in April on a one-year veteran minimum deal.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to sign Melvin Ingram to a one-year contract.

"I met with Coach [Mike] Tomlin," Ingram told NFL reporter Josina Anderson. "You can tell he's very involved and a players' coach. That's what stood out to me. He wants to win, and that is what I am on.

"My role is my role. He just told me to come in and be me. Everyone knows how I play."

Ingram, a 2012 first-round pick, had spent his nine-year career with the Chargers, racking up 49 sacks.

Troy Polamalu has not been back to Heinz Field for a Pittsburgh Steelers game since he retired after the 2014 season.

That will change in 2021, however, as Polamalu confirmed to the Steel City Insider that he plans to return to Heinz Field this fall.

The defender plans to be present for his Hall of Honor induction ceremony. Polamalu is part of the Steelers' 2020 class that also includes former defensive teammate James Farrior, linebacker Greg Lloyd, safety Mike Wagner and defensive lineman Dwight White.

The wife of Dwayne Haskins faces a domestic violence charge stemming from an alleged assault involving the quarterback that occurred in a Las Vegas hotel room this month, according to reports.

Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins faces a felony charge of battery and domestic violence resulting in bodily harm stemming from the alleged altercation on July 3.

Gondrezick-Haskins is accused of punching Haskins in the mouth, and other injuries Haskins, 24, reportedly suffered were "substantial in nature."

"We are aware of the situation but will have no comment," said the Pittsburgh Steelers, when asked for comment.

Ben Roethlisberger has prioritized physical conditioning ahead of the season, to the point his "diet is stricter than" that of Tom Brady, according to a report.

The report states Roethlisberger is "obsessed" with his new workout plan in an effort to prove naysayers wrong entering 2021.

The quarterback agreed to reduce his salary from $19 million to $14 million this offseason.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to sign kicker Sam Sloman, pending a physical.

A seventh-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, Sloman appeared in seven games in Los Angeles as a rookie, making 8-of-11 attempts and 18-of-21 of extra points.

After being released, the 23-year-old joined Tennessee late in the season and helped the Titans win the AFC South.
