Antonio Brown Focused On Building Relationship With Derek Carr

May 30, 2019 10:30 AM

Antonio Brown believes it's important that he builds a relationship on and off the field with Derek Carr.

Brown famously lacked a strong relationship off the field with Ben Roethlisberger as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"It's tremendously important to have a relationship off the field because playing football you get mentally tired, you get frustrated, you always want to have that respect for the guy to know where he's coming from, know what he stands for and know what's important to him so you guys can be on the same page, and do what you desire to do — and you desire to win," Brown said.

Richie Incognito Signs With Raiders

May 28, 2019 3:18 PM

Richie Incognito has signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Incognito hasn't played in the NFL since 2017.

Mike Mayock was asked how his goals to build a foundation with high character are congruent with Incognito's history of character issues.

"Whenever he's been focused on activities solely on the field, he's been fine and we've done a one-year prove-it deal with him," Mayock said, later adding that it was for the veterans minimum. "And prove it means both on and off the field. There's some expectations he's got to meet in both areas. He turns 36 in July, we think he's going to be a good football player and allow himself to compete for the left guard job and just as impiortant, he's got to prove it off the field.

"We're going to provide the infrastructure for him. At the end of the day, it's a two way street - we've got to help him help himself."

Derek Carr Annoyed By Rumors Raiders Would Draft Quarterback

May 22, 2019 8:08 AM

Derek Carr was confident the Oakland Raiders wouldn't draft a quarterback this offseason, but he was still bothered by the speculation that they would.

"Honestly, it got annoying after a while," Carr admitted. "I'm like, 'Really, they don't have nothing else to talk about?' And I didn't help the situation, trying to challenge people to fights."

The Raiders had nine draft picks last month and didn't use any on a quarterback.

Aside from Carr, Oakland's depth chart includes Nathan Peterman, Mike Glennon and Landry Jones.

HBO's Hard Knocks Down To Four Potential Teams

May 14, 2019 8:28 AM

There are only five teams eligible to appear on HBO's "Hard Knocks" this season.

Rules prevent teams with first-year coaches, teams that made the playoffs within the last two seasons, and teams that have been featured on "Hard Knocks" within the last 10 years from appearing on the show.

The San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins are eligible, but a report has indicated that the 49ers won't be featured.

The Chicago Bears have added yet another kicker, acquiring Eddy Pineiro from the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland received a 2021 seventh-round pick, according to a report. If Pineiro isn't on Chicago's active roster for five games, the Raiders won't get the pick.

Pineiro joins Chris Blewitt and Elliott Fry as the third kicker on Chicago's roster. They released Redford Jones and John Baron on Sunday at the conclusion of their rookie minicamp.
