Derek Carr Wants To Challenge First Take Hosts To Fight

Jan 23, 2019 6:46 PM

After a hugely successful 2016 season, Derek Carr has struggled over the past two seasons.

Carr voiced his displeasure with criticism from the likes of ESPN's First Take.

“It’s because I blocked them both for talking trash about our team. Those 2 clowns don’t know anything about this game. Would love to actually sit and break down film with these two on tv just to show their viewers how incompetent (lacking qualification) they are about our game,” Carr wrote.

Carr then told UFC President Dana White he wanted to challenge Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman to a fight.

“Hey how do I challenge a couple of these clowns on tv to a fight? I think we should start a business together. Where pro athletes can challenge some of these people to an octagon fight until they give us an answer,” Carr wrote.

Carr has also been outspoken in the past about his Christian faith.

Jon Gruden: QBs No Longer Have To Be Tall

Jan 23, 2019 10:08 AM

The Oakland Raiders have three first-round picks and may be in the market for a quarterback.

Jon Gruden says he's impressed with Kyler Murray, who could become the shortest quarterback in the NFL.

"I used to think that a lot, until I saw Drew Brees twice a year in Tampa, then I met Russell Wilson coming out of N.C. State, and now I’m watching this kid, Murray, coming out of Oklahoma and I'm putting away all the prototypes I once had," Gruden said. "I used to have a prototype for hand size, height, arm strength, all that stuff."

Mike Mayock: Jon Gruden Has 'Final Say' In Decisions

Jan 8, 2019 2:10 PM

Jon Gruden will have the final say in personnel decisions with the Oakland Raiders, says new general manager Mike Mayock.

"In all honesty, Jon's got final say, if it ever comes to that, and I've got zero problems with that," Mayock said.

"Now, having said that, I think we're going to come to a consensus, and I like a little yelling, a little screaming, a little fighting for what players you believe in. But at the end of the day, I guarantee you, Jon Gruden and I are going to know what a Raider looks like and smells like. I don't think we're going to have any issues."

Mayock had never held a front-office job before being hired by Gruden and owner Mark Davis.
