Tony Gonzalez hobbled off the field in the third quarter Sunday of Kansas City's game against New Orleans. Gonzalez suffered an ankle sprain but returned to the field in the fourth quarter of Kansas City's 30-20 loss. He had five catches for 39 yards.

New Orleans running back Reggie Bush will sit against Kansas City on Sunday with his knee injury. The Saints have the 27th-ranked rushing attack, and Bush will now have missed three straight games.

Kansas City running back Kolby Smith was carted off the field on Sunday against Tampa Bay with a sprained knee. Smith started the game in place of Larry Johnson, who was benched for disciplinary problems. Smith had 46 yards and a touchdown for the Chiefs before suffering the injury.

Chiefs' running back Larry Johnson has been suspended one game by the NFL without pay for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The league admitted Friday the suspension probably would have been longer had Kansas City not deactivated Johnson for the last two games and for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. "It was factored into the decision," NFL senior vice president of public relations Greg Aiello said.
