Could Pioli End Up In Kansas City?

Sep 5, 2014 12:43 PM

The Chiefs haven't identified any potential candidates to replace Carl Peterson as general manager, but New England's Scott Pioli could end up the team's target. "I want somebody who's a shrewd evaluator of football talent," Hunt said. "(His) job will be 24/7 to think about the football team. That's the most important quality. Obviously I'm looking for a strong leader, a good communicator, preferably somebody who has experience in building a winning NFL team." Pioli, New England's vice president of player personnel, could fulfill most of those qualities.

Edwards: Wins Are Better Than Draft Position

Jul 31, 2014 10:22 AM

Chiefs' coach Herm Edwards believes that winning games is better than the draft position that comes along with losses. "Fans have a right to their opinion," Edwards said in reference to "tanking" the remainder of the season. "The fans make the game. They're involved with their football team, and they have emotion. But players and coaches always want to win. That will be our intent the next few weeks. "We're going to pick regardless, and we'll get some good players like we did this year."

Bailey A Game-Time Decision, Big Day For Chiefs' Bowe?

May 16, 2014 11:32 PM

Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is a game-time decision for Sunday's battle with the Chiefs after missing five games with a groin injury. "I think I've progressed, but the thing is it's moving so slow. It's very frustrating but I've got to deal with it as it is," Bailey said. Denver already has a porous defense, and would be further weakened by the absence of Bailey once again. That could mean a big day for Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City's top receiver.
