Gonzalez Could See Himself Asking For Trade

Jun 3, 2014 6:16 PM

Chiefs' tight end Tony Gonzalez loves it in Kansas City, but could see himself asking management for a trade to a Super Bowl contender, according to NFL.com. "Yeah. I definitely could, but I love being a Chief," Gonzalez said Wednesday. "But if it was something where it was going to take three or four years or whatever before they get this thing right, I think it would be in their best interest to maybe see what they can get and send me off. But I love being a Chief, and I couldn?t imagine being anywhere else at this point. At the end of this season, hopefully I don?t have to ask that. Hopefully, we get this thing turned around. I?ve got a family now. I came here when I just turned 21, so this is home. That?s where I?m at right now with that." Gonzalez is in his 12th NFL season, all with Kansas City.

Aug 8, 2014 10:00 PM

Chiefs' Coach Herm Edwards has announced that quarterback Tyler Thigpen will start against the Falcons this weekend, according to Associated Press. "For what we're trying to do, I think he can do a good job of it," Coach Herm Edwards said. "He'll be limited in some things, but we want to take a look at him." Kansas City hasn't won a game in eleven months. Thigpen came off the bench to replace Damon Huard, who was starting for the injured Brodie Croyle, this past Sunday. "He's another young player, a quarterback we want to look at, see where he's at. If he struggles, obviously Damon comes in," Edwards said.

Receiver Javon Walker will make his Raiders' debut on Sunday against the Chiefs, according to Associated Press. He still has some pain in his injured hamstring, but he will tough it out against Kansas City. Coach Lane Kiffin said he has not decided whether to start Walker or Ashley Lelie at split end. "He just can't really push off it right now," Kiffin said Friday. "He came out yesterday and tried a little bit, he thought it was getting better, just not a lot of strength in it right now."

Bernard Pollard Fan Club T-Shirts Hit The Web

Oct 31, 2014 11:40 AM

Bernard Pollard's legal hit of Tom Brady that sadly ended Brady's season has resulted in a new line of t-shirts by a website called BelieveMerch.com. The t-shirt says 'Bernard Pollard's Fan Club' and includes a crossed out #12. "It amazes me, shocks me every time," said Ellis Hobbs. "It gets lower and lower. Where is it going to stop? But, it is what it is. We know what we do every day, we know how hard we work and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone else think."

KC?s Pollard Not Listening To Moss' 'Dirty' Talk

Sep 29, 2014 10:16 PM

Chiefs' safety Bernard Pollard isn't listening to comments made by Randy Moss calling his hit on Tom Brady a 'dirty play', according to Boston Herald. "I don?t really want to get into it, but for me personally, I think it was dirty," Moss said after the game. "When I came back in (to watch the replay), it looked dirty to me. I?ve never been a dirty player. I honestly don?t even know how to play dirty. I just play the game. Any time you see something like that that looks foul, that looks dirty, it opens your eyes. So for me personally, it looked dirty." As Brady planted his left leg to throw to Moss in the first quarter, Pollard, who had been blocked to the ground by running back Sammy Morris, crawled and lunged into Brady?s leg. "It was an accident," Pollard said. "It was a call that we had; I went in to make a play and unfortunately landed on him, and he went down. We knew it was something serious because of the yell that he let out." "I?m not a dirty player," Pollard added. "Like I said, it was football; it really was. I can?t do anything but pray for him and hope he comes back. As soon as he went down, if it was a dirty play, I wouldn?t have apologized. I?d have got up and went my way. I immediately started apologizing. I went to my coach and let my coach know and my coach knew (it wasn?t a dirty play.) For all the people who said that, that?s their opinion."
