Broncos' Kareem Jackson Has Suspension Cut To Two Games

Oct 25, 2023 8:30 AM

Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson's suspension for violation of unnecessary roughness rules has been reduced from four games to two games, the NFL has announced.

Jackson will now be eligible to return to the active roster on Nov. 14 -- the day after the Broncos' game against the Buffalo Bills.

He was ejected from Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers for his sideline hit on tight end Luke Musgrave in the fourth quarter. It was the second time this season that Jackson was ejected for an illegal hit.

Sean Payton Points To 2022 Lions As Message To 'Keep Fighting'

Oct 19, 2023 9:10 AM

The Denver Broncos are 1-5 but Sean Payton is trying to keep the team motivated.

"There's a fine line here between a groove and a rut," Payton said. "You take a look, and I'll give you an example -- Detroit. A year ago, I watched it as a media member, covering a handful of tough losses. They were 1-6. I know [coach] Dan [Campbell] well, and you keep fighting. There's a grit element involved. Some mental toughness that's involved. Pretty soon, here they are at the end of the season. They were eliminated before [they played their final game], but they were in contention. Here they are now as one of those teams. We're kind of in that position. We're bowing up, and we have to."

Payton is in his first season as Denver's head coach.

Al Michaels Says TNF Made Point To Limit Taylor Swift Coverage

Oct 13, 2023 8:48 AM

Taylor Swift was in attendance for Thursday night's game between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, sitting next to Travis Kelce's mother, Donna, in a suite.

The NFL has featured a lot of coverage on the relationship between Swift and Kelce, but Al Michaels said ahead of the game that Amazon planned to show the singer-songwriter less than we've come to expect.

"What we're gonna do [for the game], everything in moderation," Michaels said. "Our crew talked about it [Thursday] morning. You can't make a sideshow the show. The vast majority of the audience are tuning in to watch a football game. There are people, I don't know how many, it could be a sizable number, but it's certainly not a majority, that if you trained the camera on her all night long, they'd be satisfied with that. This is not what we're doing to do."

He admitted there would inevitably be a couple of shots of Swift at the game, but Michaels said anything more than that would be "farcical."

Sean Payton 'Not Looking' To Shop Any Broncos Players

Oct 11, 2023 8:56 AM

The Denver Broncos are 1-4 heading into this week's battle with the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the trade deadline on Oct. 31, the Broncos have been linked in trade rumors. Sean Payton, however, says the team isn't looking to move any of their players.

"We're not looking to do business with any of our players," Payton said, when asked about conversations with George Paton as the trade deadline approaches. "That doesn't prevent teams from calling at times. We just -- you pick the phone up, but that's kind of where it's at."

Jets Make OC Nathaniel Hackett A Winner In Revenge Game

Oct 9, 2023 2:02 AM

Facing the team that fired him and the coach who maligned him in print, New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett enjoyed a day of sweet revenge as his unit racked up 407 total yards Sunday in a 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos at Empower Field.

Hackett was presented a game ball in a raucous winning locker room, where he was cheered and mobbed by players. He spoke briefly to the team, refusing to gloat or accept any credit. The players did that for him, describing how they badly they wanted to make him a winner.

"If someone talks s--- about one of us or one of our coaches or anybody in the building, we want to have their back," tight end C.J. Uzomah said. "So this one was for Hack."

Broncos Receiving Trade Calls, Could Be Active

Oct 8, 2023 1:36 PM

Randy Gregory was the first player traded away by the Denver Broncos this season, but he might not be the last, league sources told ESPN.

The Broncos have gotten calls about other players on their roster as well and could be active ahead of the Oct. 31 trade deadline depending on how they fare over the next few weeks, according to league sources.

The Broncos (1-3) have fielded inquiries over the past two seasons about Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, and Denver's young wide receivers are expected to garner more attention in the coming weeks.
