Baker Mayfield: Josh Allen Deal Good For Quarterbacks

Aug 9, 2021 8:38 AM

Josh Allen was the first quarterback taken in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft to sign a contract extension when he signed on the dotted line with the Buffalo Bills last week.

Allen inked a six-year extension worth up to $288 million with more fully guaranteed money than any other deal in league history.

Baker Mayfield said on Sunday that he's very happy for Allen and that he thinks the deal is a positive for all quarterbacks, but that his own pending extension isn’t first and foremost in his mind.

"Like I said, I am worried about winning," Mayfield said. "I think the rest will take care of itself. Yeah, it is good for the quarterback position overall. I would be lying if I said otherwise. I am worried about winning right now. I do not know the timeline on it. We have not talked about it because I am worried about winning this season."

Nick Chubb, Browns Agree To Three-Year, $36.6M Extension

Aug 2, 2021 7:52 AM

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a three-year, $36.6 million contract extension with Nick Chubb.

Chubb's $20 million in guaranteed money is the seventh-highest total in the league among running backs.

Chubb has been the backbone of the Cleveland offense the past two seasons, averaging 5.25 yards per carry during that span.

Chubb missed four games in 2020 because of a knee injury, but he still finished seventh in the league with 1,070 rushing yards.
