Maualuga Gets Four-Year Deal From Bengals

The Bengals have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with linebacker Rey Maualuga. Maualuga, a second-round draft pick from USC, is expected to compete for a starting job at outside linebacker.

Ochocinco Will Defy NFL's Tweet Rule

Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco says that he will ignore the NFL's ban on in-game tweeting. "There's a lot of things they (NFL) don't want me to do. I do it anyway. They know that. I don't know why they even fussing about it," Ochocinco said. "When I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it, regardless of what they say." After Ochocinco promised to Tweet during games this coming season, the NFL issued a warning that such behavior would not be allowed.

Bengals, Graham Still Far Apart On Deal

The Bengals and kicker Shayne Graham are still far apart in negotiations on a long-term contract. Having placed the franchise tag on Graham, the two sides have until July 15 to comes to terms on a new deal. If they don't, Graham will play in Cincinnati this season under a one-year tender. "The Bengals put the franchise tag on Shayne for the 2009 season acknowledging that he is a vital part of the team. However, we disagree as to his long term value," said Graham's agent, Rob Roche. "Shayne has been an 87.4 percent kicker for the Bengals, and he is committed to maintaining his excellent kicking for them this upcoming season. We remain open to continue further discussions with the Bengals for a long term deal." Graham would earn $2.483 million this season under the tender.

Ochocinco: 'Damn NFL And These Rules'

Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is upset that the NFL has already put restrictions on in-game Tweeting. "Damn NFL and these rules, I am going by my own set of rules, I ain't hurting nobody or getting in trouble, I am putting my foot down," Ochocinco wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday. Ochocinco said earlier this week that he plans to post on his Twitter account during games this season, but the NFL soon issued a statement against the practice.

Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is promising to update his Twitter account during games this fall. "You know, it's funny - I like it. I like it because it gives me the opportunity to reach out to thousands of people at one time. It gives me a chance to get my story across when something goes wrong ... It's big for me and I'm taking it a step further," Ochocinco said. "I have my own application coming out where people will be able to interact and follow me. You know more than through just the keyboard and reading my messages - you'll actually be able to follow me and when the season starts, it's going to get even worse. I'm going to really make it fun. I'm using Twitter during games, during halftime, after the games. I'm going to be taking it to the next level."
