Johnson Sets Bengals' Reception Record In Rout

Jun 26, 2014 5:09 AM

Chad Johnson commandeered a television camera behind the end zone, swung it around and aimed it at the field as part of a touchdown production that was two months in the making. What he saw through the viewfinder: A Tennessee team playing itself out of the picture. Johnson had a career-high 12 catches, set the Cincinnati record for career receptions, scored three touchdowns and steadied the Bengals to a 35-6 victory Sunday over the fading Titans. "He deserves the credit," quarterback Carson Palmer said of the Pro Bowl receiver. "He's that good. We did a good job around him, too."

Cards' Rolle Collects 3 INTs, Arizona Beats Cincy

Sep 29, 2014 6:10 PM

Antrel Rolle did a cartwheel and a backflip after his second interception return for a touchdown which threw the Cincinnati Bengals for a loop. He still had one more play and one more celebration left. The highly drafted cornerback returned interceptions 55 and 54 yards for touchdowns on Sunday, leading the Arizona Cardinals to a 35-27 victory that got them back to break-even and kept them in the NFC West race. Rolle finished it off with his third interception in the closing minutes. He ran Carson Palmer's career-high fourth interception back 71 yards, but the apparent touchdown was nullified by a blocking penalty on the return. Rolle did a chest dive in the end zone anyway to finish off his career day. After going through a three-game fade, Arizona (5-5) has rebounded by winning two in a row, matching its win total for each of the last two seasons. The latest one showed off its young cornerback's athleticism and its 36-year-old quarterback's improvisation.

Bengals Lose Another Linebacker To IR

Oct 8, 2014 6:57 PM

For the second time in two weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday placed a middle linebacker on injured reserve, prematurely ending the season of Caleb Miller, who has not played since suffering a back injury on Sept. 23. Miller, 27, becomes the fifth Cincinnati linebacker lost for the season to injury or suspension and joins Ahmad Brooks, Lemar Marshall, David Pollack and Odell Thurman on the sideline. All but Thurman, who is serving a second straight season-long suspension, are injured. Brooks, Thurman and Miller are all middle linebackers. To replace Miller on the roster, the snake-bitten Bengals claimed free agent linebacker Roy Manning, who was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars and is joining his fifth NFL team in only three seasons in the league.

Receiver Chris Henry was allegedly involved in an altercation with a parking attendant on the eve of rejoining the Cincinnati Bengals from his eight-game suspension. Henry practiced with the Bengals on Wednesday and will be eligible to play Sunday in Baltimore. Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him for the first half of the season for repeatedly violating the NFL's conduct policy. The third-year receiver stayed out of trouble during the suspension and was allowed to practice with the team for the last two weeks. He sat out a 33-21 loss in Buffalo on Sunday that dropped his last-place team to 2-6.

Nov 27, 2014 3:47 AM

Marshawn Lynch and the Buffalo Bills' popgun offense finally found an opponent they could dominate. The rookie running back threw for a touchdown and scored another rushing, sparking a 33-21 win over the defensively porous and fully demoralized Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. It was a breakout performance for Lynch, who had a career-best 153 yards rushing, including a 56-yard TD run that put the game away with 2:22 remaining. He also had an 8-yard touchdown pass to Robert Royal, which put the Bills ahead for good, 26-21, with 6 minutes left. The Bills (4-4) won their third straight, their best stretch since winning six straight in 2004 and produced 479 yards of total offense, their most since producing 579 in a 42-23 win at Seattle to end the 2000 season.
