Bengals' Johnson Easily Beats Horse In Race For Charity

Oct 12, 2014 4:23 PM

Chad Johnson got a head start without having to jump offside, and beat his coverage to the goal line again. The Bengals wide receiver was waiting at the finish line when Restore the Roar arrived at the end of his one-eighth-mile gallop. That's right: Johnson raced a horse Saturday and easily won. Johnson was spotted a 100-meter lead -- roughly about half the distance the horse had to cover in the race for charity. And when it was over, Johnson, as usual, was anything but humble. He sounded ready to take on boxing, basketball and NASCAR.

Palmer Back At Full Strength

Oct 31, 2014 7:18 AM

The high-tech, hinged knee brace hangs from a hook in Carson Palmer's locker, a symbol of how far the quarterback has come from his career-threatening injury. A year and a half later, he doesn't even need a brace. Palmer is back to full health and playing at full speed during the Bengals' weekend minicamp, a tantalizing sign for an underachieving team that failed to make the playoffs last season. This year, there are no excuses.

Bengals' O'Neal Unhappy With Lewis' Comments

Aug 2, 2014 4:18 PM

Deltha O'Neal isn't happy that Bengals coach Marvin Lewis criticized him for missing a voluntary workout last month, the latest challenge for a cornerback trying to prolong his career. The 30-year-old cornerback insisted at the start of minicamp Friday that he would keep his starting job, even though the Bengals used their first-round pick on Michigan cornerback Leon Hall in April. "Everybody wants to be the starting corner," said O'Neal, who avoided interviews last season. "I'm just going to fight my way to stay at the top."
