Despite torn ligaments in his non-throwing elbow, Arizona Cardinals' quarterback Kurt Warner practiced for a second straight day on Thursday, increasing the chances that the 10-year veteran will start in Sunday's road game against the Washington Redskins.
After experimenting with several different braces on his left arm during Wednesday's practice, Warner settled Thursday on a protective device that he said provided comfort and flexibility.
"I'm not getting hit and thrown around, but it felt good," Warner told the team's Web site. "Hopefully, too, when you are working with a brace and all that, hopefully you work out some of that irritation. Maybe I can do something on Sunday."

Cardinals Sign QB Tim Hasselbeck To One-Year Deal
The Cardinals, hit by injuries to two quarterbacks, signed Tim Hasselbeck on a one-year deal on Tuesday.
The Cardinals said on their official website that Hasselbeck had trained with the team last week and that his arrival had been planned even before Kurt Warner hurt his elbow in Sunday's defeat to Carolina.
Warner was pushed into the lineup after first-choice quarterback Matt Leinart's season ended with a broken collarbone on the previous Sunday.
Arizona's Boldin Doubtful For Sunday's Game
Cardinals' wide receiver Anquan Boldin is doubtful for today's game with a sore hip.
Boldin has not been able to practice this week, but, ?Physically, he can play,? coach Ken Whisenhunt said. ?My concern is not getting a lot of reps? in practice. ?That?s why he?s doubtful.?
Boldin has said he prefers to get in practice time before playing in games, a belief shared by Whisenhunt.
Cardinals Expected To Sign QB Tim Hasselbeck
In search of another backup quarterback after the season-ending injury to Matt Leinart thrust Kurt Warner into the starting role, the Arizona Cardinals are expected to sign veteran Tim Hasselbeck after Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
The signing is contingent on the Cardinals not suffering any injuries Sunday that require other potential roster moves.
During his career, Hasselbeck has been on the roster of the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and the Panthers.
Cardinals' Leinart Out For The Season; Sign QB Rattay
An already difficult second NFL season came to an end for Arizona's Matt Leinart on Tuesday when he was placed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone.
Kurt Warner, the 36-year-old quarterback who had shared duties with Leinart, moves into the starting job. The team signed Tim Rattay on Tuesday to be Warner's backup.
Cardinals Looking At Testaverde And Rattay At QB
The Cardinals will bring in 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde and Tim Rattay for tryouts Tuesday at their Tempe facility as they search for a replacement for injured quarterback Matt Leinart.
With Leinart out indefinitely because of a fractured left collarbone, the Cardinals are in the market for an experienced backup for new starter Kurt Warner. Testaverde, who spent part of last season with the New England Patriots, clearly fits the bill.
Rattay, 30, does, too, though to a lesser extent. He is a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers and was cut by Tennessee in the preseason. He lives in the Valley, where he played high school and junior college football.
Leinart Out Indefinitely With Broken Collarbone
Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart fractured his left collarbone while getting sacked late in the first half of Sunday's 34-31 victory over the Rams.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Leinart, the team's first-round pick in 2006, would be out indefinitely.
"We don't know how long it's going to be," Whisenhunt said. "But it's going to be for an extended period of time."
Arizona's Leinart Leaves Game With Injured Collarbone
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart injured his left collarbone while getting sacked late in the first half, leaving for the locker room.
Leinart was hurt on a 9-yard sack by blitzing St. Louis Rams linebacker Will Witherspoon, knocking the Cardinals back to their 7. He was replaced on a third-and-19 play by Kurt Warner, who earlier in the second half led the Cardinals to their first touchdown.
Leinart, the Cardinals' first-round pick in 2006, walked off the field with his left arm held close to his chest. He was 7-for-13 for 100 yards and an interception.
Cardinals Could Be Without Boldin, Brown On Sunday
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt stopped short Wednesday of saying a player who doesn't practice during the week won't play on Sunday, but made it clear he's not crazy about the idea.
Two offensive starters, receiver Anquan Boldin and right tackle Levi Brown, didn't play Sunday and sat out Wednesday's practice. Boldin's hip injury is improving, as is Brown's ankle, but both are expected to be at least questionable for Sunday's game in St. Louis.
"I believe you need to practice, no matter who you are," Whisenhunt said. "Not only for yourself but for the team, too, because of the timing with the other guys."
Leinart: "I Just Want Them To Ride Or Die With Me"
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't appear bothered Monday by critical comments quarterback Matt Leinart made the previous night about sharing playing time with backup Kurt Warner.
Leinart's comments to Yahoo.com columnist Michael Silver weren't inflammatory, but he did express his frustration at the situation.
"I just want them to ride or die with me," Leinart told Yahoo hours after the team's 21-14 victory over Pittsburgh. "If I'm the franchise quarterback, play me and let me stumble, because I'll fight through it, and that will help me and our team in the long run. I know coaches want to win now, and I guess they have their reasons. But I don't understand it, and this switching back and forth is almost worse than getting benched."
