Already playing without Pro Bowl strong safety Adrian Wilson, the Arizona Cardinals' secondary took another hit Tuesday, with the team forced to place starting cornerback Eric Green on injured reserve, ending his 2007 season.
A third-year veteran and solid cover defender, Green suffered a groin injury in last week's overtime loss to San Francisco while tackling 49ers' tailback Frank Gore.
The Cardinals also released punter Mike Barr after a poor performance in Sunday's game. Barr was last in the NFL in both gross average (40.4 yards) and net average (31.7 yards). He had two poor punts on Sunday, including one in overtime that cost the Cardinals important field position.

Everybody Beats The 49ers, Except The Cardinals
Tully Banta-Cain pounced on Kurt Warner's fumble in the Cardinals' end zone to give the 49ers a wild 37-31 overtime victory and end their eight-game losing streak Sunday.
"You could have swore we just won the Super Bowl the way we were celebrating," Banta-Cain said.
Cards' Rolle Collects 3 INTs, Arizona Beats Cincy
Antrel Rolle did a cartwheel and a backflip after his second interception return for a touchdown which threw the Cincinnati Bengals for a loop. He still had one more play and one more celebration left.
The highly drafted cornerback returned interceptions 55 and 54 yards for touchdowns on Sunday, leading the Arizona Cardinals to a 35-27 victory that got them back to break-even and kept them in the NFC West race.
Rolle finished it off with his third interception in the closing minutes. He ran Carson Palmer's career-high fourth interception back 71 yards, but the apparent touchdown was nullified by a blocking penalty on the return.
Rolle did a chest dive in the end zone anyway to finish off his career day.
After going through a three-game fade, Arizona (5-5) has rebounded by winning two in a row, matching its win total for each of the last two seasons. The latest one showed off its young cornerback's athleticism and its 36-year-old quarterback's improvisation.
Cards' Berry Out For Season With Triceps Tear
Arizona Cardinals' defensive end Bertrand Berry will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn left triceps.
An MRI on Monday confirmed the extent of the injury, team spokesman Mark Dalton said on Tuesday. Berry was hurt in Sunday's 31-21 victory over Detroit.
It is the third year in a row that Berry's season has ended prematurely.
He missed the final six games of last season with a torn right triceps and the last eight games in 2005 with a torn pectoral muscle. Berry made the Pro Bowl after leading the NFC in sacks in 2004, his first season with the Cardinals.
Bucs Intercept Cardinals' Comeback Attempt
An old, trusty ally has shown up in support of Tampa Bay's bid to get back to the playoffs.
Stingy defense was the team's hallmark for most of the past decade, and it was the key Sunday as the Buccaneers surpassed their victory total for last season with a 17-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Jeff Garcia threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Joey Galloway, while Earnest Graham scored on a 2-yard run and had his first 100-yard rushing performance as a pro for the Bucs (5-4), whose 4-12 record a year ago was the franchise's worst since 1991.
