Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart injured his left collarbone while getting sacked late in the first half, leaving for the locker room. Leinart was hurt on a 9-yard sack by blitzing St. Louis Rams linebacker Will Witherspoon, knocking the Cardinals back to their 7. He was replaced on a third-and-19 play by Kurt Warner, who earlier in the second half led the Cardinals to their first touchdown. Leinart, the Cardinals' first-round pick in 2006, walked off the field with his left arm held close to his chest. He was 7-for-13 for 100 yards and an interception.
