Daniel Snyder Not Allowing Jeff Bezos To Bid On Commanders

Feb 25, 2023 9:37 PM

Jeff Bezos will not be allowed by Daniel Snyder to bid on the Washington Commanders.

Bezos owns the Washington Post, which published a series of stories documenting a culture of sexual harassment at the team that ultimately helped build the pressure to sell.

“It’s a free country, he can sell to whomever he wants,” the person briefed on the sale process said.

Bezos did not make an offer in the first round of bidding that closed recently.

Those bids were reportedly less than $6 billion.

Jeff Bezos has hired an investment firm to examine the possibility of purchasing the Washington Commanders.

Bezos hired the boutique investment firm of Allen & Company, the same company that conducted the sale of both the Denver Broncos last year and the Carolina Panthers in 2018.

Bezos has a net worth of $119 billion.

The only known bidder to date is Josh Harris, who toured Washington's facility last month, according to multiple sources. Harris, who grew up in the Washington area, owns the Philadelphia 76ers as well as the New Jersey Devils and is a limited partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Michael Irvin Sues Accuser, Marriott For $100M Over Accusation

Feb 10, 2023 8:52 AM

Michael Irvin has been taken off television coverage for Super Bowl LVII after an allegation of misconduct.

The NFL Network and ESPN removed Irvin from coverage after a woman accused him of misconduct at a Marriott hotel this week.

Irvin filed a lawsuit against the woman and Marriott on Thursday afternoon. He claims the accuser and the hotel hoped to make him the next victim of "cancel culture."

Per the lawsuits, eyewitnesses support Irvin's contention that he "casually exchanged pleasantries" with the accuser -- a hotel employee -- "shook her hand, and went to his room alone."

He has admitted that he doesn't fully recall what happened, and that he had been "out drinking."

Brett Favre Sues Shannon Sharpe, Pat McAfee For Defamation

Feb 10, 2023 8:40 AM

Brett Favre, who is involved in the largest welfare fraud scandal in Mississippi history, has filed three separate defamation lawsuits against state auditor Shad White as well as Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee.

Favre's lawsuit against White, whose office first discovered the fraudulent spending that ultimately led to criminal charges against six people, accuses White of "shamelessly and falsely attacking Favre's good name" to advance his political career.

Favre's lawsuit against Sharpe alleges the 14-year NFL veteran defamed Favre by saying on FOX that Favre was a "sorry mofo to steal from the lowest of the low," and that Favre "stole money from people that really needed that money."

Similar allegations were made in the lawsuit filed by Favre against former NFL punter Pat McAfee. According to the suit, McAfee called Favre a "thief" who was "stealing from poor people in Mississippi" on "The Pat McAfee Show."

Favre's spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuits.
