Roger Goodell Wants To Keep Bills In Buffalo

Aug 23, 2021 8:38 PM

Roger Goodell supports keeping the Buffalo Bills in western New York as the franchise considers relocation.

"You've got to think long-term here," Goodell said. "This has been going on for decades, and it's time to get a new stadium done that we can make sure the Bills are here and successful for many, many decades going forward.

"We're focused on keeping the Bills [in Buffalo] in a new stadium in a public, private partnership. That's what this is all about and that's where we're focusing."

Bills owners Kim and Terry Pegula submitted a proposal for a $1.4 billion stadium across the street from the team's current stadium in Orchard Park, which has a 10-year lease that will end in 2023.

Goodell said he was not sure what the stadium's timeline is but added that the team's new stadium needed to be "built for Buffalo" and "fit Buffalo."

FBI Joins Investigation Into Deshaun Watson Allegations

Aug 19, 2021 9:46 AM

The allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior against Deshaun Watson are being investigated by the FBI, according to the quarterback's lawyer, Rusty Hardin.

Hardin said that Watson spoke to the FBI about allegations of extortion regarding one of the 23 lawsuits filed against the quarterback, of which 22 are still active.

"In April, the FBI came to us and told us they were investigating a matter as to whether one of Mr. [Tony] Buzbee's clients had committed extortion in the way they were demanding money from Deshaun or what they would do if they didn't pay it," Hardin said in a news conference.

"We were not the ones who contacted them; they contacted us. We talked to [the FBI]. We even let them interview Deshaun -- and if y'all can find a lawyer that will let his client talk to the FBI if the lawyer had thought his client had done anything wrong or had any exposure, then I'll be very, very surprised."
