Seahawks, Falcons Discuss Julio Jones Trade

May 31, 2021 2:01 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have had discussions with the Atlanta Falcons on a trade for Julio Jones.

Jones and Russell Wilson have been in touch with each other to discuss the possibility of playing for the same tema.

The Seahawks already have a talented group of wide receivers led by DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

The Falcons have already received an offer of a future first round pick for Jones.

The Seahawks do not have a first-round pick in 2022 after sending it to the New York Jets last year to acquire safety Jamal Adams.

Stefon Diggs Aiming For 'Five Super Bowl Rings'

May 28, 2021 8:51 AM

During an interview with DC Magazine, Stefon Diggs set some lofty goals for the remainder of his career.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver says he wants to win five championships.

"I haven't reached the mountain top yet. I always aim high. I want five Super Bowl rings," Diggs said.

"I want the Hall of Fame. I want the glory. I believe I'm a champion. But, more so, I want to carry some people along with me. I want my brother, Trevon, to have a good career. I want to give my mom a place where she can be comfortable. I want to give people jobs. I want to do more for D.C., my city. The mountain top isn't just for football; it's for life in general. The more people I can help -- that's when I'll look back and know I made a difference."

Report: Jaguars Envision Taysom Hill-Like Role For Tim Tebow

May 31, 2021 2:01 PM

Tim Tebow hasn't taken an NFL snap since 2012, but he's in camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tebow is listed as a tight end, but Urban Meyer envisions using the 33-year-old in a utility role -- much like Taysom Hill with the New Orleans Saints.

"There are people in camp right now who strongly believe the reason why Urban Meyer brought Tim Tebow in is not to play tight end, but actually to use him in that utility role, that Taysom Hill role that we see Sean Payton use in New Orleans," Dianna Russini said on ESPN's Get Up.

"In terms of comparing the two, we always talk about on this show how much Sean Payton loves Taysom Hill. It's been very obvious over the years. That same kind of love is what Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer have between each other. It could be a very similar situation, but in terms of football, this is something we could be seeing."

That title was previously held by Kelly Kleine, who was named executive director of football operations and special adviser to general manager George Paton by the Denver Broncos earlier this month.

The new protocols were relayed to owners during a virtual meeting on Wednesday.

Tua Tagovailoa Was Uncomfortable Calling Plays As Rookie

May 27, 2021 4:47 PM

Tua Tagovailoa says his surgically repaired hip feels "10 times" better than it did a year ago when he was preparing for his rookie season.

In his first interview with South Florida media since the Miami Dolphins' 2020 season ended, the quarterback opened up about his first professional campaign.

"Last year, for me, I wasn't as comfortable just in general. I wasn't comfortable calling plays," Tagovailoa said. "The guys that were here last year were phenomenal. I just didn't have the comfortability of checking plays, alerting plays. I just rode with the play, even if I knew it wasn't going to work. I was going to try to make it work.

"I didn't actually know the playbook, necessarily, really, really good, and that's no one else's fault but my fault. Our playcalls were simple when I was in. I didn't have alerts and checks. Where now, I feel comfortable and I can maneuver my way through these things."

Lamar Jackson Would Love To Be Raven 'Forever'

May 27, 2021 7:43 AM

Lamar Jackson doesn't know when he'll sign a contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens, but the quarterback wants to remain with the franchise over the long term.

"I would love to be here forever," Jackson said. "I love Baltimore. I love the whole organization. I love everybody in the building. Hopefully, we'll be making something happen pretty soon whenever."

Jackson said he spoke with Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta a month or two ago about an extension.

The 24-year-old is scheduled to earn $1.77 million in base salary this season, which ranks 23rd among all quarterbacks. His salary spikes to $23.1 million in 2022, when he enters his fifth-year option and final year under contract.
