Texans Won't Trade Deshaun Watson Before Deadline

Oct 31, 2021 8:27 AM

The Houston Texans are planning on keeping Deshaun Watson past the NFL trade deadline and will reopen discussions in the offseason.

Nick Caserio has been unwavering in his stance and determination to get full value for Watson and, to date, has been unwilling to trade him for anything less than what he believes Watson is worth.

Cal McNair would prefer the Texans trade Watson in order to move on from the situation.

The Texans and Miami Dolphins have had trade discussions at various points, and Miami has been in the driver's seat with Watson's desire to play, most of all, for Miami.

The Dolphins prefer Watson's legal situation be resolved before a trade.

Kyler Murray: I Honestly Don't Know What Happened On Final Play

Oct 29, 2021 9:09 AM

The Arizona Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season when Kyler Murray threw an interception in the end zone in the final seconds of Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers.

A.J. Green never turned around as Murray targeted him in the right corner of the end zone, leading to a game-sealing interception by Rasul Douglas.

Kliff Kingsbury said that "it wasn't the route that we thought we had checked and so we've got to communicate better in those situations." He called the play they expected to run a "safe throw" and Murray said he wasn’t sure what went wrong.

"I honestly don't know what happened," Murray said. "Miscommunication."

Dak Prescott Wants To Play, Says Not 'Fully My Decision'

Oct 29, 2021 9:05 AM

Dak Prescott wants to face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football despite a calf strain that has kept him limited the last two days of practice.

"Knowing this is a long journey and a long season, I don't necessarily know if this is fully my decision, but I'm just going to keep controlling the things I can to get better," Prescott said. "I've gotten better each and every day, and that's what is most important. I'm just focused on doing that again tomorrow."

Prescott said the coaches and director of rehabilitation Britt Brown will be part of the decision-making process as well.

Patrick Mahomes Tells Teammates: 'I've Got To Be Better'

Oct 29, 2021 9:01 AM

In the wake of the worst statistical game of his career, Patrick Mahomes was honest with his Kansas City Chiefs teammates about the team's recent offensive struggles.

"You can just watch the tape and know that I need to play better in order to have success," Mahomes said. "There were plays where guys were open. There were plays where we had matchups down the field that I didn't hit that I usually would give those guys opportunities to make plays.

"I've said something to them that I've got to be better. At the same time, they have that mindset that they're going to try to build me up. It's a thing where you're not going to play your best game every single game, and that's when you have to rely on your other guys to kind of step up and make plays for you."

"We still haven't played our best game. We're 5-2, we're in a great spot, but we're not satisfied," Burrow said. "We're gonna keep going, keep coming to work every single day to get better. The sky's the limit for us."

Tua Tagovailoa Confident In Status After Talk With Brian Flores

Oct 28, 2021 8:40 AM

Tua Tagovailoa is confident in his status with the Miami Dolphins after having a discussion with Brian Flores.

Reports persist that the Dolphins are interested in a trade for Deshaun Watson.

"I don't not feel wanted," Tagovailoa said. "That's what I could say."

Following Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Tagovailoa said he and Flores had conversations about the reports and that Flores said he reaffirmed Tagovailoa's status as Miami's starting quarterback.

Beyond that, Tagovailoa said he largely ignores any outside noise.

"I really don't think about it," he said. "The only time I'm really hearing about it, like I've said before, is if [the communications staff] is kind of telling me what's going on within the rumors or if my agent calls me. That's really when I hear it. Other than that, I don't really hear it."

Former WFT Employees Want 'Findings Released'

Oct 28, 2021 8:36 AM

The attorneys for some former Washington Football Team employees have rejected Roger Goodell's reasoning for not making the investigation into the organization public, saying in a letter that their clients wanted anonymity but also a written report.

Goodell had said at the league meetings Tuesday that they did not release a written report into the nearly year-long investigation of the organization and owner Dan Snyder because some who were interviewed wanted anonymity and therefore no public report.

In a two-page letter to Goodell, Lisa Banks and Debra Katz stated that their clients -- they represent 40 women who made allegations of sexual harassment while working for Washington -- wanted only protection. They wanted the findings released.

The letter stated, "While many who came forward feared retaliation by Dan Snyder, and therefore requested their names be kept confidential, they never envisioned that all their efforts and the efforts of Beth Wilkinson and her team would result in no written report of findings, and no real accountability for Dan Snyder or the WFT. Had they known this, they would not have participated."
