The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' new regime had appeared to have a pessimistic opinion of Mike Glennon as the long-term solution at quarterback, but that appears to have changed.
The Buccaneers signed Josh McCown in the offseason and were also linked to quarterbacks in the draft.
"We looked at all the tape of last year," Jason Licht told SiriusXM NFL Radio's Alex Marvez on Tuesday. "Having him in the building and going through that first minicamp with him and seeing how he was in meetings and interacted with the team -- and more importantly how he was on the field -- just secured our feelings of how we evaluated him and felt about him."
Said Licht: "That really helped with our draft strategy."

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't select Johnny Manziel with the seventh overall pick if he remains on the board.
The Buccaneers signed Josh McCown in the offseason and they still have Mike Glennon on the roster as well.
Dashon Goldson underwent ankle surgery, which will keep him out of all spring work.
Goldson will earn $9 million next year from a contract he signed last year with the previous Tampa Bay regime.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are interested in trading away Mike Glennon for a second round pick.
Glennon finished the 2013 season as the Buccaneers' starting quarterback, but the club signed Josh McCown in the offseason to start in 2014.
Lovie Smith did say that Glennon would have a chance to compete with McCown before the season.
The Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots and Chicago Bears are potential landing spots for Mike Glennon.
