Jeff Tedford is taking an indefinite leave from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his medical condition has not improved.

Tedford has missed time early this season due to a heart procedure. He has only been a partial participant in leading the Bucs' offense through three games and hasn't been able to call plays.

Tampa quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo has been heavily involved in game-planning and in the quarterback's ear during the games. His role will grow with Tedford out, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have worked out Terrelle Pryor, according to sources.

Pryor was cut in the offseason by the Oakland Raiders and later released by the Seattle Seahawks.

Josh McCown may miss some time due to injury.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a good position to sign Gerald McCoy to a long-term deal.

The Buccaneers don't have anyone to whom they still owe big chunks of money. They have about $30M in cap space next season and roughly $58M for 2016 projections, sources said, and have almost no players with big signing bonuses, either.

McCoy has become the face of the Buccaneers franchise.

Talks remain ongoing and progress is being made, sources said. McCoy counts $15M against this year's cap (he makes $13M this season and Suh makes $12.6M), so his franchise tag would be more manageable.

Doug Martin was deactivated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their Week 2 game against the St. Louis Rams.

Martin has been dealing with a knee injury.
