Charles Tillman To Enter Free Agency

Aug 8, 2014 5:04 AM

Charles Tillman will test free agency after 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Tillman may still return to the Bears, but it is unlikely he will earn as much as the $7.95 million he made in 2013.

Tillman could join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be reunited with Lovie Smith.

Tillman will turn 33 next month, which is considerably old for a cornerback. Tillman could potentially move to safety.

Revis: I'm Still Best Cornerback In NFL

Aug 13, 2014 4:00 AM

Darrelle Revis insists he remains the best cornerback in the NFL, not Richard Sherman.

"Don't get me wrong he's an entertainer, but he shouldn't have said that," Revis said Wednesday at the Pro Bowl. "The reporter asked him a question about the team and he went on to answer about me, me, me, me. So that is how I took it. He didn't answer the question in the right way."

Revis wasn't surprised by Sherman's proclamation.

"It is what it is, that is Sherman," he said. "That is what he thinks. Everybody has their own opinion.

"I feel like I'm the best," he said. "Deion Sanders probably feels like he is the best. Everybody has their own personal opinion. And that is how you go with it and I think that is what makes it fun.

"(Sherman is) saying he's the best," Revis continued. "I'm saying I'm the best, Joe Haden thinks he's the best. ...You can go by numbers, you can go by the ball not being thrown to your side so many times, there are so many variables in it. But at the same time, we are all talented players."

Revis: Guys Didn't Like Coming To Work Under Schiano

May 18, 2014 3:58 AM

Darrelle Revis spoke candidly about his experience playing for Greg Schiano on the 4-12 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"The atmosphere, I felt like, was real tense," Revis said during the Pro Bowl Draft in Hawaii, via The Tampa Bay Times. "Guys didn't like coming to work. That's one of the things you have to have, a stress-free atmosphere and environment. You're going to get everything out of everybody if it's stress-free and let people be who they are.

"I just didn't feel he did a very good job of that. It was a learning experience for him as well, and hopefully, if he ever gets another stab at it, he'll do things differently."

Revis pointed to Schiano's inexperience with NFL schemes and unwillingness to listen to players.

Darrelle Revis 'Excited' About Future For Buccaneers With Smith

Sep 18, 2014 5:59 AM

The future of Darrelle Revis with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is unclear following the hiring of Lovie Smith.

Smith will presumably install the Tampa Two defense, which does not play to the strengths of Revis.

Revis, however, sounded excited about the hire on Twitter.

"I'm excited about the future for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers," wrote Revis on Twitter. "Heard some great things about Lovie Smith & can't wait to finally meet him."

Buccaneers Could Part Ways With Darrelle Revis

Oct 2, 2014 11:05 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could walk away from Darrelle Revis to save $16 million in both cash and cap space for 2014.

Revis was acquired by the previous regime in a trade with the New York Jets.

By parting ways with Revis, the Buccaneers could avoid upgrading the final piece of the trade from a top-10 fourth round pick in 2014 to a top-10 third round pick.

Revis is a man-to-man coverage specialist and doesn't fit the traditional duties of a cornerback in the Tampa Two.
