Brandon Graham: Chiefs 'Blessed' To Face Eagles On Slippery Turf

Jun 28, 2023 9:43 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles featured a historic defensive line last season, a group that flirted with the all-time record for most sacks as a team.

They lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, and failed to record a single sack against Patrick Mahomes.

Several months later, Brandon Graham says the turf at State Farm Stadium helped neutralize Philadelphia's pass rush.

"You need that traction to be able to get off the block and we were slipping a lot," Graham said. "I don't make excuses. I just know that that's what was being talked about, us trying to get out of our own head a little bit, too.

... "I'm telling you that O-line, they got blessed, I'll say that."

Jason Kelce: Nothing Motivates You Like Losing A Super Bowl

Jun 27, 2023 8:59 AM

Jason Kelce says losing the Super Bowl at the end of last season has motivated him even more to want to win one at the end of this season.

"Having lost one now, I think for sure -- you can try and not let that be a factor, but man, the hunger and the desire to get back there and finish it, even though it's going to be a completely new season, new set of guys and not the same team, you can't help but that be a factor," the Philadelphia Eagles center said.

Kelce contemplated retirement after the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but ultimately returned for another season.

Eagles WR Devon Allen Runs Fourth-Fastest 110M Hurdles In 2023

Jun 26, 2023 9:28 AM

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devon Allen placed second in the 110-meter hurdles at the USATF New York City Grand Prix on Saturday with a time of 13.04 seconds.

The result put him in a tie for the fourth-fastest time in the world thus far this year.

Allen made the Eagles' practice squad last year after returning to football for the first time since playing collegiately in 2016.

He signed a reserve/future contract with Philadelphia following the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season.

Demarcus Lawrence Doesn't See Large Gap Between Cowboys, Eagles

Jun 22, 2023 9:06 AM

It's been a long time since a team repeated as NFC East champions and Demarcus Lawrence doesn't believe the Philadelphia Eagles should be heavy favorites in 2023.

The Eagles and Dallas Cowboys were separated by two games in the standings last season, which ended with Philadelphia in the Super Bowl.

"I don't feel like it's a huge gap at all," Lawrence said when asked about the disparity between his Cowboys and the Eagles.

"I feel like it comes down to certain details. Not just the scheme, but also your locker room. I feel like through this time right now when we headed to training camp, that we made those adjustments, we learned those different things that we need to learn about our teammates so we can fully function the way we should out there on the field."

Haason Reddick Says 'There's Still More Levels' After 16-Sack Season

Jun 20, 2023 8:30 AM

Haason Reddick had a career-high 16 sacks in his debut season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, but he's looking for even more.

"I'm in great shape," Reddick said. "As crazy as it sounds, I feel as if there's still more levels for me to tap into. I'm extremely excited and looking to build on another great year. I want to continue to progress on what I did and what the team did last year."

Reddick signed a three-year, $45 million deal with Philadelphia last offseason.

T.J. Edwards Sees Similarities Between Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields

Jun 19, 2023 8:24 AM

T.J. Edwards, who left the Philadelphia Eagles to sign with the Chicago Bears in free agency this offseason, sees similarities between his two most recent quarterbacks.

The linebacker was asked by SiriusXM NFL Radio if Justin Fields had any characteristics that reminded him of Jalen Hurts.

"One thing with Jalen was he was always just kind of calm and collected," Edwards said. "That's why we looked to him so much, just because he was always that calming factor. You do see similarities with J Fields.

"He doesn't seem to get rattled out there in terms of when we're mixing up looks on him and stuff like that. Just from what I've seen with my first year -- him just throwing the ball. Dude's got such a strong arm, and he's been very accurate just about this entire OTAs and minicamp. It's exciting to see, especially since he doesn't really add in the leg factor when we're just in helmets and things like that. I'm really excited to play with a guy like that, a guy who can make all the plays who can also lead this team. He's definitely the guy, so it's exciting to be around. No doubt."

Darius Slay: Reunion With Matt Patricia Has Been 'Cordial'

Jun 13, 2023 8:18 AM

Darius Slay has addressed his relationship with Matt Patricia, who the Philadelphia Eagles hired this offseason as a senior defensive assistant.

The Detroit Lions traded Slay to the Eagles in March 2020 after his relationship with Patricia, then the Lions head coach, fell apart.

During an appearance at a charity golf tournament with Calvin Johnson on Monday, Slay said that things have been "cordial" between the two men since Patricia’s arrival in Philadelphia.

"It's another day at the office," Slay said. "We both got the same goal, just going out there to compete and win a championship, so that's the main focus."

Miles Sanders Expresses Frustration With Usage In Super Bowl

Jun 12, 2023 9:47 AM

Miles Sanders posted career-highs across the board for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, but his numbers tailed off during the playoffs.

After averaging 74.6 rushing yards per game in the regular season, Sanders averaged 49.3 rushing yards in the postseason.

In the Eagles' Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Sanders had just 16 yards on seven carries and a fumble. He played just 35 percent of offensive snap in the game.

"Last game of the season? For all of the marbles? Everybody can answer that question," Sanders said at OTAs this week when asked if he was disappointed by how he was used in the Super Bowl. "If they put themselves in my shoes, would they be happy? I don't want to make headlines, (but) if it does, I don't care."

Sanders signed a four-year, $25 million deal with the Carolina Panthers this offseason.

Jalen Hurts: 'Last Year Is Over'

Jun 9, 2023 9:08 AM

Jalen Hurts broke out last season, helping lead the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl.

The quarterback, who finished second in MVP voting, is ready to turn the page to the 2023 season.

"Thinking about it holistically, last year is over," Hurts said. "Anything that we were able to do last year ... nothing that's been done prior will get us to where we want to be now."

Hurts noted that there are lessons to be learned from each stage of the journey.

"There are a ton of experiences that we documented and deposited in the bank to learn from -- that we will learn from and have learned from -- but it's a day-by-day thing," he said.

"It's the truth. Every team has their own opportunity to do something special, and this is a whole entire new team. It's something I've embraced. It takes a special type of discipline to achieve what you want to achieve. You have to completely reset that but also allow the things you've experienced to fuel you, fuel that fire, and grow."
