The source told ESPN on Saturday that there was no signing bonus, but Williams' salary increases over this year's base of $730,000. The deal will keep Williams in Miami through the 2009 season.

The Dolphins have traded veteran quarterback Josh McCown to the Panthers for an undisclosed 2009 draft pick, according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "I'm excited for the opportunity," McCown said after hearing of the deal. After signing Chad Pennington and drafting Chad Henne in the second round, Beck and Josh McCown are in a fight for the No. 3 quarterback slot. According to the sources, the Dolphins contacted the Cowboys - and other teams - about Beck shortly after coming to terms with Pennington.
