Huizenga will remain as managing partner of the club for the near future, setting no timetable for when Ross will take command. Ross is spending about $550M for his share of the team.

Free-agent safety Chris Crocker signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Friday, according to the Miami Herald. "He's coming in to compete for the starting job," his agent said. "He's got a lot of experience." The deal is worth $1.150 million, with $300,000 guaranteed.

In need of a young quarterback, the Dolphins appear to be interested in Chad Henne and Joe Flacco heading into next month's draft, according to the Miami Herald. The Dolphins are looking to take one of the two quarterbacks with their second-round pick.

Bill Parcells appears willing to trade to Miami's first overall pick in next month's NFL Draft, according to the New York Daily News. "I'm not sure anybody is interested in the pick," Parcells said. "The economics of the pick are a little more devastating if it doesn't work out. You have to have some willing partners of the trade-down thing. We're in position where we are assuming we are going to make the pick."

The Dolphins and wide receiver Tab Perry agreed to terms on a one-year contract, according to a report on the Bengals web site Sunday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Peter Schaffer, the agent for Perry, hinted that the contract was in the range of $927,000 which is the number the Bengals opted not to sign Perry as a restricted free agent.

Dolphins' defensive end Jason Taylor said he wants to remain with the team, according to the Miami Herald. "Look, I'm under contract with the Dolphins," Taylor told Sirius on Saturday. Contrary to a published report, Miami Executive Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells wants Jason Taylor playing for the Dolphins in 2008 if he decides against retiring, according to ESPN.com. "This latest report is just another example of journalistic irresponsibility," Parcells told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Josh McCown will try to succeed where 12 others have failed since Dan Marino retired at quarterback for the Dolphins. The new Bill Parcells regime signed free-agent McCown to a two-year contract Friday. He?ll bid to become the 13th starting quarterback for Miami since Marino retired following the 1999 season, according to an Associated Press report.
