The Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens have the three oldest collections of starters in the NFL.
The Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals are the youngest.
Former Vikings head coach Bud Grant had a popular saying that "for every young guy you start, you lose a game."
Pete Carroll worked for Grant early in his coaching career, but has had one of the youngest teams in the NFL during his tenure with the Seahawks.
"I was of that mindset in classic fashion until I had to be in charge of calling all the shots and then it just flipped in me that we don't know where we're going unless we find these guys out," Carroll said. "One of the really exciting things about playing guys early is ... by the middle and to the end of the season, you’ve developed players that fit into your rotations now that add to your depth and also add to the opportunity to not over-play your older guys."

The St. Louis Rams made traded the second overall pick to the Washington Redskins in exchange for first rounders in 2012, 2013 and 2014, along with a second round pick.
Regardless of how Robert Griffin III performs in his NFL career, Rams' GM Les Snead is focused on how his own picks progress.
“The players you acquire during you reign, and how they produce, is what you are going to be measured by, not really one particular player another team picked,” he said. “I think our mantra here in this building is we are going to stack good decisions and I think as we stack good decisions, good things will happen for this organization.”
St. Louis selected Michael Brockers with the 14th overall pick.
The Jets will trade Wayne Hunter to the Rams in exchange for Jason Smith.
Hunter was recently demoted by New York at right tackle in favor of Austin Howard.
Smith, the second overall pick by the Rams in 2009, has lost his starting job to Barry Richardson.
The Bears have the best uniforms in the NFL, according to Paul Lukas of Uni Watch.
"True, the helmet design is starting to look a tad dated," writes Lukas. "But the striped sleeves, striped socks (now a rarity in the NFL, alas), unique number font, and even the perma-memorial to Papa Bear all score major points, and the Bears may be the only team in the league who look as sharp on the road as they do at home. The cream of the NFL crop."
The Packers, Steelers, Raiders and Eagles round out the top-five.
"Just suit up, baby," writes Lukas about the Raiders. "Silver and black look just as good today as they did when Al Davis came up with them. There's probably some marketer out there who wants the team to dress up like the fans in the Black Hole (and hey, that actually could be fun as a one-off thing), but you don't mess with something this elemental. Also: The Raiders are among the few NFL teams that wisely have declined to adopt the new Nike collar format."

Vernon Gholston has signed with the Rams.
Gholdson projects as playing defensive end for the Rams, though he was drafted sixth overall by the Jets at linebacker.
Gholston is still just 26 despite not playing in the NFL last season.
The Colts have acquired Josh Gordy from the Rams in exchange for a future draft pick.
St. Louis has enough depth at the cornerback position to make Gordy expendable.
Gordy played collegiately for Central Michigan.
Chris Long headlines Rams' players in ESPN's Top-200 at No. 75.
Cortland Finnegan (101), Steven Jackson (116), James Laurinaitis (151) and Scott Wells (195) were also in the Top-200.
Sam Bradford was rated by ESPN as the No. 17 quarterback in the NFL.
The Rams have instituted a special program to help Janoris Jenkins fulfill his parental obligations.
Jenkins, the 39th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Florida, has fathered children with three different women.
St. Louis has a consultant manage child support payments for the five children.
