Janoris Jenkins: Teams That Passed On Me 'Gonna Pay'

Jul 17, 2014 5:56 AM

The Rams selected the sliding Janoris Jenkins with the 39th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Friday night. Jenkins will have a chip on his shoulder, even though he is aware that off-field issues led to his slide. "I know my off the field issue was a factor," Jenkins told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "But, you know, my past is my past, I put that behind me. And everybody that skipped over me, they just gonna pay for it."

Rams Refute Reports Of Steven Jackson's Availability

Sep 14, 2014 6:39 AM

The Rams have refuted rumors that Steven Jackson is unhappy with his contract and has been made available via trade. St. Louis coach Jeff Fisher flat-out denied any trade talk involving Jackson. "Rumors," Fisher said. "Steven is here, he is in the offseason program. He's upstairs every other day. He's doing great and having fun learning the offense. No discussion, conversation or anything along that sort to my knowledge." NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reported that Jackson is looking for a new contract. The Rams claim that also is news to them. Jackson, meanwhile, was "taken aback" by suggestions that he could be released if the Rams take Trent Richardson at No. 6 overall.

49ers GM: Gregg Williams Remains A Friend

Oct 11, 2014 7:03 AM

Apparently, there are no hard feelings on 49ers GM Trent Baalke's part regarding the Saints' targeting of San Francisco players in their bounty program. The GM recently reached out to suspended former New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to discuss the matter. He and Williams worked together during the 2004 season in Washington and Baalke still considers him a friend. "I don't feel any differently about him today than I did 20 days ago," Baalke said.

Fisher: Rams Would Consider Re-Hiring Gregg Williams

Oct 31, 2014 6:20 AM

Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL, but he may still have a future with the Rams. There is a chance that St. Louis will re-hire Williams as defensive coordinator if reinstated. "You know we have to consider that" coach Jeff Fisher said. "I think there will be a lot of conversations at the league-office level. Gregg is very, very remorseful at this point. He regrets everything that took place. He came out in his statement and said that. And I think Gregg, at the end of the day, is going to do some great things for this league off the field before he comes back."

Rams Haven't Named Replacement For Williams

Aug 11, 2014 12:58 PM

The Rams sent out a series of Tweets to announce their finalized coaching staff under new head man Jeff Fisher. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, suspended indefinitely for his role in the New Orleans bounty scandal, wasn't on the list, but neither was a replacement. Things might change before the start of the season, but St. Louis said at this point no one other than Williams will hold the position. "I've got Dave McGinnis on staff, Chuck Cecil on staff," Fisher said last month when asked if he would replace Williams. "I'll remind you that the playbook that Gregg has originated in my office, so I have a pretty good feel for the defense. At this point, I don't have liberty to say who is going to make the calls and the decisions, but it'll get done and it'll get done effectively."
