Colts Wanted Hanging Videoboards Too

Oct 2, 2014 12:23 PM

The Indianapolis Colts wanted to hang videoboards on Lucas Oil Stadium, but realized they couldn't when it was tested. "The irony is that our stadium architect [at new Lucas Oil Stadium] wanted to hang the videoboards the same way in our stadium,'' Bill Polian said. "So we put a metal beam about 90 feet above the ground and had our punter at the time, Hunter Smith, punt the ball up there trying to hit it. He hit it the majority of the time. That's why we put our replay boards on the wall.''

Sanders Could Miss Colts' Season Opener

May 19, 2014 11:44 PM

The Colts could be without safety Bob Sanders when they open up the regular season on Sept. 13. Sanders remains on the PUP list after undergoing surgery on his right knee, and coach Bill Caldwell isn't sure when he'll be able to play. "I'm not certain," Caldwell said. "I would say that if I felt that way. The most important thing is to get him healthy." Indianapolis owner Bill Polian provided a little more insight. "He's coming back during the regular season, and probably for the vast majority of it. The question is how fast is he progressing over the next four weeks, and it looks pretty good right now."

Oct 16, 2014 11:43 AM

Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne reported to camp on Sunday in a dump truck wearing a hard hat and construction garb. "As you can see, we're under construction," Wayne told NFL.com. "I'm here ready to work. I've got my lunch box, and I'm ready to go." Wayne wore a custom-made helmet that had the words "Wayne's Construction" and "Super Bowl under construction" screen-printed on it. The Colts, one of the NFL's most consistent teams over the last decade, are entering a season of relative uncertainty. Jim Caldwell is their new head coach and longtime receiver Marvin Harrison is gone.
