Bills' Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis Out Five Days As Close Contacts

Aug 24, 2021 11:08 AM

Buffalo Bills wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis, and defensive tackle Star Lotulelei will miss the next five days of practice after being deemed close contacts of a team trainer who tested positive for COVID-19, a source has confirmed.

All three tested negative for the virus Tuesday morning but must miss practice anyway. The trainer was fully vaccinated.

The NFL's policy, which heavily restricts unvaccinated players while allowing a return to near normalcy for vaccinated players, sparked criticism from Beasley in June, when he tweeted that he was not vaccinated and would continue to "live my one life like I want."

Roger Goodell Wants To Keep Bills In Buffalo

Aug 23, 2021 8:38 PM

Roger Goodell supports keeping the Buffalo Bills in western New York as the franchise considers relocation.

"You've got to think long-term here," Goodell said. "This has been going on for decades, and it's time to get a new stadium done that we can make sure the Bills are here and successful for many, many decades going forward.

"We're focused on keeping the Bills [in Buffalo] in a new stadium in a public, private partnership. That's what this is all about and that's where we're focusing."

Bills owners Kim and Terry Pegula submitted a proposal for a $1.4 billion stadium across the street from the team's current stadium in Orchard Park, which has a 10-year lease that will end in 2023.

Goodell said he was not sure what the stadium's timeline is but added that the team's new stadium needed to be "built for Buffalo" and "fit Buffalo."

Josh Allen, Bills To Cut Off Contract Talks By Week 1

Aug 3, 2021 1:02 AM

The Buffalo Bills plan on cutting off negotiations with Josh Allen on a contract extension if a deal isn't reached by Week 1.

"Josh and I are in lockstep on that," Brandon Beane said during a brief interview after practice. "There will be no negotiating in-season. At some point we will press the pause button."

The Bills bought themselves time on negotiations in May when they picked up the fifth-year option -- worth nearly $23 million -- of Allen's contact.

Allen opened training camp by saying he's not concerned about contract talks.

"Whether it happens or it doesn't happen, it's not going to change my approach to be the best teammate, the best leader I can be for this team and this organization," Allen said. "My focus is completely on the field."

Bills Have Austin On Relocation List If Buffalo Doesn't Build Stadium

Aug 1, 2021 10:01 PM

The Buffalo Bills are trying to build a new $1.5 billion stadium and are seeking 100 percent funding from taxpayers for the construction.

“An ownership source tells me that Austin is a possible destination – or threat – as one of the ‘other cities elsewhere that desire an NFL franchise and would pay handsomely for it,'” writes Seth Wickersham.

The Raiders were connected to a possible relocation to San Antonio before they eventually settled on Las Vegas.

Austin is a television market for both the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans and it is likely they would try to block a move of a third franchise in the state.

Terry and Kim Pegula purchased the Bills in 2014.
