Losman To Start Again Against Carolina

Jun 9, 2014 12:43 PM

Quarterback J.P. Losman will start his second straight game when the Buffalo Bills host the Carolina Panthers Sunday. Coach Mike Mularkey said he's encouraged with the progress Losman has shown in the last two games since taking over for an injured Kelly Holcomb. "After watching the tape, I thought J.P. performed pretty well," Mularkey said, referring to Losman's 20-of-36 for 168 yards passing with a touchdown and interception in a 48-10 loss at San Diego on Sunday.

Losman To Start Against San Diego

Jun 7, 2014 4:46 PM

J.P. Losman will start for the Buffalo Bills against San Diego after Kelly Holcomb missed his third straight practice since getting a concussion. Coach Mike Mularkey said Friday that he expected Holcomb to be medically cleared for the game Sunday, but wasn't sure if he would serve as Losman's backup or be relegated to No. 3 status. Holcomb was hurt when he was sacked and fumbled in the second quarter of Buffalo's 14-3 win against Kansas City on Sunday. It was Holcomb's fifth consecutive start since replacing Losman, who struggled in opening the season at 1-3.

Holcomb Leaves Game With Severe Concussion

May 18, 2014 10:42 PM

Bills quarterback Kelly Holcomb left the game with a severe concussion against Kansas City. Coach Mike Mularkey said he wasn't sure whether Holcomb would be able to start next week against San Diego, and Benson is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam Monday. Holcomb was hurt in the second quarter of a 14-3 win when he was sacked by Jared Allen. Holcomb fell backward and landed on teammate Mike Williams' leg, forcing the quarterback's head to snap back. He was on the field for a few minutes and looked groggy while trainers attended to him on the sideline. J.P. Losman took over, producing two touchdown drives in his first appearance since Holcomb was named starter following a 19-7 loss to New Orleans on Oct. 2.
