Sep 25, 2014 3:49 PM

Buffalo Bills right tackle Mike Williams will play against the New England Patriots on Sunday night. After originally being listed as questionable, Williams was updated to probable after Friday night's practice. He participated fully for the first time this week. Williams, the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft, has been nursing a left ankle injury he aggravated in a 38-17 loss to Oakland in Week 7. He missed two games earlier this year after originally being injured in Week 2 against Tampa Bay.

Bills' CB McGee Gets Four-Year Extension

Jul 13, 2014 6:06 AM

The Buffalo Bills on Friday afternoon signed cornerback Terrence McGee to a four-year contract extension that will keep their emerging young star off the restricted free agent market next spring. The extension, which runs through the 2009 season, culminates months of on-and-off discussions between Buffalo officials and agent Terry Bolar. It averages roughly $4.5 million per year in "new money" and includes a $5 million signing bonus. As first reported last Friday in a "Tip Sheet" item, negotiations were ramped up last week when Buffalo increased its offer to $16.75 million over four years.

Bills To Go With Holcomb Again At QB

Jul 13, 2014 6:06 AM

While there has been no official announcement from the team, quarterback Kelly Holcomb will get his second straight start in place of J.P. Losman when the Buffalo Bills host the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. Bills coach Mike Mularkey has declined to identify his starter, citing the "competitive advantage" of keeping the Jets guessing, but Holcomb has worked with the first unit this week and will get the nod. He will attempt to build on last week's performance, when he helped the Bills snap a three-game losing streak with a 20-14 victory over Miami. In that game, Holcomb completed 20 of 26 passes for 169 yards, with one touchdown pass, no interceptions and a 106.1 passer efficiency rating. While the 169 yards is a modest total, that's 19 more yards than Losman totaled through the air in his two most recent starts.

Bills DT Edwards Undergoes Season Ending Surgery

Sep 25, 2014 3:49 PM

Ron Edwards will spend the rest of the 2005 season on the sideline after undergoing surgery on his injured right shoulder. Edwards has not yet been placed on the injured reserve list, but that's likely to happen. A fifth-year veteran, Edwards suffered the injury in the first half Sunday against New Orleans. He missed most of the 2003 season with a serious injury to his left shoulder that required surgery. "The good news is it's not as serious as the previous injury," coach Mike Mularkey said.

Losman Out As Starting QB In Buffalo

Jan 13, 2014 11:10 AM

Although there has been no official announcement from coach Mike Mularkey, the Buffalo Bills plan to start veteran quarterback Kelly Holcomb on Sunday as at least a temporary replacement for youngster J.P. Losman, ESPN.com has confirmed. The decision to enact the switch, after Losman started the first four games of the year, was made Tuesday, with the quarterbacks apprised of the plan. The Bills, 1-3 and unable to generate much offensive rhythm, host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo coaches feel Holcomb, a 10th-year veteran, may be better able to handle some of the defensive schemes they feel Miami will employ. Losman is said to be disappointed but also motivated at losing his starting spot.
