Kyler Murray's Agent Releases Statement Detailing Offer To Cardinals

Mar 1, 2022 2:45 PM

Kyler Murray's agent, Erik Burkhardt, released a lengthy statement Monday saying they have sent a detailed contract proposal to the Arizona Cardinals.

Murray is scheduled to make about $5.4 million in 2022, with a base salary of $965,000 and a $4.5 million roster bonus that's fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the league year.

While Burkhardt did not provide specific details, he said Murray's proposal is "in line with the current quarterback market" but lowers his 2022-23 salary cap number to allow the Cardinals to re-sign "other deserving teammates and add additional free agents."

Burkhardt says it's now up to Arizona to make the deal, adding that "Kyler remains hopeful that the organization chooses to commit so that he can continue leading the Cardinals to further success and value for many years to come."

Kyler Murray: 'All Of This Nonsense Is Not What I'm About'

Feb 15, 2022 8:33 AM

Kyler Murray has appeared to address the speculation that he's upset with the Arizona Cardinals.

Murray posted on Instagram on Monday that "all of this nonsense is not what I'm about" and vowed to "grow and get better."

The post came a day after sources described the quarterback to ESPN as self-centered, immature and someone who points fingers.

"I play this game for the love of it, my teammates, everyone who has helped me get to this position that believed in me & to win championships. All of this nonsense is not what I'm about, never has been, never will be. Anyone who has ever stepped between those lines with me knows how hard I go," he wrote. "Love me or hate me but I'm going to continue to grow and get better."

Kyler Murray, Cardinals Frustrated With Each Other

Feb 14, 2022 9:37 AM

The Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray are entering the offseason at odds. Murray scrubbed any reference of the Cardinals from his Instagram recently and is frustrated with the Cardinals thinking they've made him the scapegoat.

The Cardinals have their own concerns with Murray, describing him as self-centered, immature and someone who points fingers.

Kliff Kingsbury is said to be self-scouting where he can provide better alternatives to help Murray.

Despite the acrimony, the Cardinals expect things to calm down and for Murray to be their quarterback of the present and future.

Larry Fitzgerald Wants What's Best For Kyler Murray, Cardinals

Feb 9, 2022 8:23 AM

Larry Fitzgerald isn't sure what to make of Kyler Murray scrubbing his Instagram account of all but two posts while also unfollowing the Arizona Cardinals, but the wide receiver wants what's best for both the quarterback and the franchise.

Fitzgerald spoke Tuesday at the R.S. Hoyt Jr. Family Foundation Dream Day at the WM Phoenix Open.

"I haven't talked to Kyler in a while but he looked good in the Pro Bowl, looked like he was having a great time, throwing touchdowns out there," Fitzgerald said. "I just hope everything works out the way both sides want it to work out. That's really what it's all about for me. I love Kyler, I love the Cardinals and I want the best for everybody."

It's unknown whether Murray's move to delete the posts and unfollow the Cardinals is due to an acrimonious relationship between him and the team or for another reason. He's heading into the final year of his rookie deal.
