Patrick Peterson Relishes Win Over Cardinals

Oct 30, 2022 7:13 PM

MINNEAPOLIS -- Never underestimate a revenge game for Patrick Peterson.

Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson was primed for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals, for whom he played the first 10 years of his career. And Peterson let them know all about it -- during and after the Vikings' 34-26 victory.

Peterson broke up three passes, mocked Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray during a midgame dance and afterward made clear he still resents the way his time ended in Arizona.

"I'm still waiting on [general manager] Steve Keim to call me," said Peterson, who departed the Cardinals after the 2020 season. "Still haven't talked to him."

Kliff Kingsbury Downplays Squabble With Kyler Murray

Oct 21, 2022 9:07 AM

Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray both downplayed a heated exchange that cameras caught in the second quarter of the Arizona Cardinals' victory over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.

The 42-34 victory snapped an eight-game home losing streak.

Cameras showed Murray walking to the sideline, repeatedly mouthing "Calm the f--- down" to Kingsbury with 2:32 left in the second quarter after he called a timeout to reset its next play.

"The clock was running down and we couldn't have got off the play that we were trying to run," Murray said. "So, it was, I guess it's my fault. I'll take it."

Kingsbury called it a difference of opinion before trying to bring levity to the situation.

"He said I didn't look good on TV acting that fiery," Kingsbury quipped. "I don't know, guess it's a Gen Z thing. 'You're on TV so calm down.'

"I like showing emotion."

Murray said Kingsbury is "usually chill ... until Sunday."

Kyler Murray: DeAndre Hopkins Won't Be Miracle Cure For Offense

Oct 19, 2022 10:04 AM

DeAndre Hopkins practiced with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday for the first time this season as the team prepares to play the New Orleans Saints this Thursday.

The Cardinals hope Hopkins, who was suspended for the first six games of the season, can help fix some of their offensive issues.

"His energy, man, it seems like every time you see him on the field ... there is a reason why he's the best," said Murray, who added that Hopkins won't simply fix things himself.

"It's not a miracle [cure] that everything is gone. We still have things we have to get better at, still things we need to fix," he said.
