Chris Johnson has agreed upon a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals.

Johnson spent last season with the New York Jets.

During the offseason, Johnson was shot in a drive-by that killed the driver of his vehicle.

Chris Johnson will visit the Arizona Cardinals this weekend and he's expected to sign with the team.

Johnson earned $4 million last season with the New York Jets.

The Cardinals have been thin at running back for the past couple of weeks. Starter Andre Ellington returned to 11-on-11 drills Thursday during training camp after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring injury. Rookie David Johnson (hamstring) has yet to practice since the Cardinals put on pads the third day of camp. Marion Grice has also been out with a hamstring injury.

The Cardinals have made a one-year offer to running back Chris Johnson, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini on Tuesday.

Johnson, who became an unrestricted free agent after the Jets declined to exercise their option after the 2014 season, recorded career lows for carries (155), rushing yards (663) and rushing touchdowns (one) last season after signing a two-year, $8 million deal. 

Michael Floyd suffered three dislocated fingers in his left hand during Wednesday's practice.

Floyd is expected to miss four weeks and might not be ready for the team's season opener against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 13.

Floyd took a step back last season, finishing with 47 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns after tallying 1,000 receiving yards in 2013.
