Jameis Winston Under Investigation By NFL For Groping Uber Driver

Nov 17, 2017 1:27 PM

Jameis Winston is under investigation by the NFL for an alleged incident in which he groped a female Uber driver in March 2016.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Darlington that the "allegation was shared with the NFL and we have reached out to Uber to request any information they may have."

"The League has been informed that you may have been the victim of such a violation perpetrated by Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Jameis Winston," NFL executive Lisa Friel wrote in the letter. "The league takes allegations of this nature very seriously and has opened an investigation into this matter."

The driver, who declined to give her name, told BuzzFeed News that she picked Winston up at around 2 a.m. local time on March 13, 2016. Winston asked her to stop at a drive-thru restaurant during the ride, and while in line, the driver said Winston reached over and "grabbed" her crotch for three to five seconds, only removing his hand when she said something. Winston was the only passenger in the car.

Winston was investigated about an alleged sexual assault in 2012.

Mike Evans Suspended One Game For Hit On Marshon Lattimore

Nov 7, 2017 9:19 AM

The NFL has suspended Mike Evans for one game for his blindside hit to Marshon Lattimore during Sunday's Tampa Bay Buccaneers-New Orleans Saints game.

Evans will appeal the suspension. The hit on Lattimore led to a scuffle between the two teams.

The wide receiver was flagged 15 yards for running across the field and drilling Lattimore in the back, then pouncing on Lattimore when he hit the ground. The incident started when Jameis Winston -- who was not playing at the time -- pushed Lattimore in the back of his helmet. Lattimore turned around and shoved Winston in the chest. Then Evans flew in for the tackle.

Jon Gruden Linked With Return To Buccaneers

Nov 1, 2017 4:13 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a disappointing first half of the season, which puts the future of Dirk Koetter as head coach on shaky ground.

Jon Gruden was fired by the Buccaneers after the 2008 season and has since worked for ESPN on Monday Night Football.

Gruden has been linked to several NFL and college jobs in the interim years but he could return to Tampa Bay, according to Michael Lombardi.

"As for Tampa, I think we can officially put Dirk Koetter on the hot seat. They've got all this talent and spent all this money," said Lombardi.

"A lot of people in the NFL are telling me that the name they are hearing is Gruden back to the Bucs job-that he has made up with the Glazers and that the Glazers could easily bring him back."
