NFL Officially Awards 2021 Super Bowl To Tampa Bay

Oct 18, 2017 5:36 PM

The NFL has officially awarded the Super Bowl in 2021 to Tampa Bay.

Tampa was provisionally awarded the game when Los Angeles had to move back their year from 2021 to 2022 due to stadium construction delays.

“The final approval of Super Bowl LV is a great source of pride for the Glazer family, the Buccaneers organization and the entire Tampa Bay region,” Buccaneers Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer said in a statement from the team. “We have made substantial improvements in recent years to ensure that Raymond James Stadium could ultimately host the game for a third time and we appreciate that our fellow owners have recognized the stadium and our area’s long and distinguished history as a world-class host city.”

Tampa Bay hasn't hosted a Super Bowl since 2009.

Buccaneers Won't Make 'Any Rash Decisions' After Nick Folk's Misses

Oct 6, 2017 7:46 AM

Nick Folk missed three field goals in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 19-14 loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night, but Dirk Koetter isn't ready to commit to a change.

"[General manager] Jason Licht and I had a brief conversation afterwards," Koetter said. "That will be something that will be forthcoming. But you don't want to make any rash decisions."

Folk missed kicks from 56, 49 and 31 yards. He also missed two field goals and an extra point in Week 4.

"It's unfortunate because he's been really solid in practice," Koetter said. "The thing that happened last week kind of came out of left field. There was no indication that was coming. We only kicked live in practice one day this week, and Nick was lights out."

Folk is now 6-of-11 for the season. He missed only four kicks all of last year and three in 2015.
