Jameis Winston Working Out With Adrian Peterson

Mar 31, 2017 8:34 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't chased Adrian Peterson in free agency, but Dirk Koetter was interested to hear that Jameis Winston spent Thursday working out with the running back.

Winston's personal quarterback coach, George Whitfield, posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Peterson, Winston and Winston's strength and conditioning coach Tim Grover in Houston.

Whitfield also posted a photo of himself with Winston, Peterson, DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans after Tuesday night's Houston Rockets game.

"I've seen Adrian Peterson many times -- one of the best running backs to ever play," Koetter said. Then, after a long pause, he added, "I'm anxious to talk to Jameis and ask him about how his workouts went."

Peterson, 32, became an unrestricted free agent March 9 when the Minnesota Vikings opted not to pick up the option on his contract, which would have paid him $18 million for 2017.

Buccaneers Offer To Make Mike Glennon NFL's Highest Paid Backup QB

Mar 7, 2017 11:26 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made an offer to Mike Glennon that would make him the richest backup quarterback in the NFL.

The Bucs' offer to Glennon would eclipse the deal that the Eagles gave QB Chase Daniel ($7 million per season).

Glennon has seen action in 21 career games with 18 starts for the Bucs, although he hasn't started a game in the past two seasons after the team drafted Jameis Winston.

Glennon, however, is seeking a job as a starting quarterback and plans to test free agency.
