Patriots Trade For LeGarrette Blount

Nov 29, 2014 2:42 AM

The New England Patriots have acquired LeGarrette Blount from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for Jeff Demps and a seventh round pick.

Blount had been phased out of the Buccaneers' offense due to the presence of Doug Martin.

Blount is a bigger back than what the Patriots currently have on their depth chart.

Source: Revis Would Have Accepted Same Deal From Jets

Sep 7, 2014 2:07 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' contract with Darrelle Revis is worth $96 million over six seasons, but contains no protection against a holdout. For the Buccaneers, the deal has no guaranteed money as to limit their risk against injury.

According to a source, Revis would have accepted the same deal from the Jets.

Revis Traded To Buccaneers, Signs $96M Deal

Jun 18, 2014 6:46 PM

Darrelle Revis has agreed to a six-year, $96 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The New York Jets agreed to trade Revis to the Buccaneers for the 13th overall pick this season and a conditional pick next season.

The contract has no guaranteed money.

The conditional pick headed to the Jets is a fourth-round selection in 2014, but could become a third-rounder if Revis is on Tampa Bay's roster on the third day of the 2014 league year.

Revis underwent a physical with the Buccaneers on Sunday, which he passed.

Jets Asking Too Much For Revis

Jun 30, 2014 7:09 AM

The likelihood of a trade between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets involving cornerback Darrelle Revis appears less likely.

New York reportedly seeks Tampa Bay's 13th overall pick, along with a third and fifth-round selections.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano and the team's front office -- "growing impatient" with the Jets -- agree that the asking price is too high, especially when the team appears to be the only suitor.

Jets Would Love To Trade Sanchez Along With Revis

May 23, 2014 7:17 PM

The New York Jets have reportedly discussed the possibility of trading Mark Sanchez to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a deal centered around Darrelle Revis.

Sanchez is set to make a guaranteed $8.25 million in 2013.

Two sources told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport on Friday that it's highly unlikely to happen.

USA Today's Mike Garafolo doesn't dispute the Jets inquired, but he reported there's "no shot" the Buccaneers would take on Sanchez.

Wright Confident Buccaneers Won't Trade Him

Jul 30, 2014 4:26 AM

Eric Wright is confident that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't trade him, even if they end up dealing for Darrelle Revis.

Tampa Bay restructured Wright's contract earlier this month.

"While we were restructuring, I got a chance to talk to coach (Greg) Schiano and (general manager) Mark Dominik, and I frankly asked if a restructure would mean me possibly getting traded," Wright wrote on his blog. "They told me that would not happen. They told me that they wanted me. Telling me they want me to be there and they're not thinking about trading me, that meant a lot to me.

"They opened the door for the restructure to happen, so I obviously was ready to take the pay cut to stay and prove myself."

Eric Wright Took $6.25M Pay Cut With Bucs

Oct 31, 2014 5:57 AM

Eric Wright accepted a $6.25 million pay cut to remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week, according to a source.

Last year, the cornerback signed a five-year, $35.8 million deal with Tampa Bay that supposedly had $15 million guaranteed.

His four-game suspension last year eliminated the guarantee on his second-year base.
