Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib reportedly won't stand trial for his aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge until next year, according to an ESPN.com report.
Talib's attorney, Frank Perez, told the St. Petersburg Times on Thursday that Talib had his trial scheduled in Texas for March 26, 2012.
Police said they believe Talib and his mother, Okolo Talib, shot at his sister's boyfriend on March 21. The man was not injured.
Talib, 25, has been out on $25,000 bond since March 30.

Talib's Case Unlikely To Be Solved Soon
Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib's shooting case likely won't be resolved until after the 2011 season, according to his attorney.
That means only NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could prevent Talib from playing in the fall.
"Right now, if I requested a trial, it would be late November at the earliest and most likely it would be next year," attorney Frank Perez said.
Talib was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for his role in a shooting case March 21 in Garland, Texas.
The second-degree felony carries up to 20 years in prison.
Seven Teams Have Had Cuts, Furloughs
NFL employees have had their salaries trimmed by 12 percent since April.
Those reductions will increase if there's no labor deal by August and seven teams have instituted pay cuts or furloughs since the lockout began March 12.
The teams are the Bills, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets and Lions.
Johnson Accepts Reserve Role, Will Look To Start In 2012
Buccaneers quarterback Josh Johnson recently told The Tampa Tribune that he has accepted his No. 2 role to starter Josh Freeman.
However, he said his goal is to sign with a team that will give him an opportunity to start when his contract is up after this season.
Ronde Barber Has No Plans To Retire
Buccaneers veteran cornerback Ronde Barber has no plans to retire in the near future.
"I'll play until I can't do it anymore," Barber told NFL.com.
"I'm fortunate to be in a good situation. I have a coach who I'm comfortable with, and he's comfortable with me. I have a GM who understands me and wants me around. We'll play it year by year. I think all parties involved will know when it's time for me to be done."
Barber was then asked how he would know it's time.
"It will be simple. When I go out on the field and I don't like practicing and I can't get through practice," he said. "Then I'll know it's time for me to not do it on Sundays anymore."
Winslow: Talib 'Too Talented' For Bucs To Release
Buccaneers tight end Kellen Winslow doesn't think the team can afford to release troubled cornerback Aqib Talib.
"We need that guy to win," Winslow said. "Talking about Super Bowls -- we need him really more than anyone besides (quarterback Josh) Freeman. He's that good. He locks down receivers. He's got to iron out what he's got to iron out, but we need him as much as anybody."
The tight end reiterated that point a few hours later, saying Talib is "too talented to let go" and citing the cornerback's close relationship with Bucs coach Raheem Morris as a reason he might stay.
Talib has a history of legal issues.
