Russell Wilson Wants To Play 25 Years In NFL

Jul 30, 2017 4:42 PM

Russell Wilson wants to have an especially long NFL career.

"I want to play 25 years," Wilson repeated three times during the course of a 15-minute conversation.

No NFL quarterback has ever played that long.

Wilson is inspired by how Tom Brady has been able to extend his career.

"Uh, yeah, I pay attention," Wilson told ESPN.com. "I’ll say that. I pay attention. Something that I’ve observed and seen. He’s a great example of longevity. He’s a great example of being able to be mobile -- a different mobility, but you know what I mean. Being able to seem like he’s just getting better. That’s what I always want to be. That’s my focus."

Richard Sherman Describes Relationship With Wilson As Professional

Jul 23, 2017 5:06 PM

Richard Sherman described his relationship with Russell Wilson as "professional" in nature.

There have been reports that the Seattle Seahawks have a fractured locker room.

"We're pros. We hang out from time to time. We get along. Everybody gets along," Sherman told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "But is my relationship with Russell the same as it is with Doug [Baldwin]? Or the same as it is with Bobby [Wagner]? No. But is his relationship with me the same as it is with Noe [Tyler Lockett] or [Justin] Britt? It's just different dynamics. But as teammates, we're phenomenal."

A recent story detailed a play during a 2014 practice in which Sherman intercepted Wilson, threw the ball back at him and yelled, "You f---ing suck!"

Sherman said the anecdote was "100 percent true" but argued that it simply illustrated the Seahawks' competitive practice environment.

Richard Sherman: NFL Players Need To Be Willing To Go On Strike

Jul 13, 2017 2:28 PM

Richard Sherman suggests NFL players need to be prepared to strike in order to receive the same type of guaranteed salaries NBA players routinely agree upon.

"Oh, 100 percent," Sherman said. "If we want as the NFL, as a union, to get anything done, players have to be willing to strike. That's the thing that guys need to 100 percent realize.

"You're going to have to miss games, you're going to have to lose some money if you're willing to make the point, because that's how MLB and NBA got it done. They missed games, they struck, they flexed every bit of power they had, and it was awesome. It worked out for them."

Sherman also said NFL players need re-evaluate how they perceive their own market as Kevin Durant and LeBron James have in the NBA.

"NBA players like KD and LeBron are sitting there taking two-year deals like it's nothing," Sherman said. "They figure, 'I'll take a two-year deal because I'm going to wait for the salary cap to increase and get another bite at the apple.' In our sport, they won't do it."

Russell Wilson To Create Manning-Style Quarterback Academy

Jul 7, 2017 9:40 AM

Russell Wilson has partnered with former teammate Jake Heaps to create the Russell Wilson Quarterback Academy.

When Wilson was in high school he attended the Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana and was blown away.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback has held his own one-day passing camps every summer since entering the NFL.

"Our thought process is to be able to consistently teach kids the quarterback position at a high, high level," Wilson said. "Not just have a camp that's a one-day camp, but also an opportunity to give training lessons, one-on-one lessons, private sessions, on-field training, the elite summer camps, with some of the best kids in the country training with us. And also classroom training.

"That's one of the things that we really want to do is have classroom training, where we sit down with these kids and teach them different coverages and different looks and the thought process of what you go through during the crucial times of a game."
