Derek Carr: I'll Give It To Marshawn Lynch On 1-Yard Line

Jun 27, 2017 8:03 AM

Derek Carr is excited to play with Marshawn Lynch and says he'll gladly hand the ball to the bruiser near the goal line.

"My No. 1 goal is that I'm going to make sure that I give everything I have to this organization," Carr said.

"There's no pressure, there's no, you know, we'll be on the 1-yard line and I won't give it to Marshawn -- I'll throw it. There's none of that stuff. I don't care about the stats. That's not my No. 1 objective. I don't care if I throw 10 touchdowns next year. If we win every game, that's all I care about."

Richard Sherman Didn't Request Trade, Understands Seattle's Position

Jun 17, 2017 1:41 PM

Richard Sherman says he didn't request a trade from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason.

"It's just a conversation they have every year," Sherman said. "I guess this year, more people knew about it. It's a conversation they have every year -- everybody's open, everybody's available. They just made sure I knew, and you guys found out. Pretty open about it. It was never a situation where anybody asked for it. It was just a conversation."

Pete Carroll and John Schneider said publicly on multiple occasions that Sherman was available, but they never made a deal.

Sherman was asked why he thought the team considered moving him.

"Because they are always open to possibilities, to hear what people have to say," Sherman said. "If somebody comes with two first-rounders, I wouldn't blame them in the least, you know? I wouldn't blame them at all. It'd be another crazy trade. Who was it that got traded like that? Herschel Walker or something like that?

"But it's just conversation. I think we have a fantastic relationship and always have. And it's always been transparent to have those communications and not have them in a rude or discourteous way, but just professionally."

Seahawks Have 'Every Intention' Of Signing Kam Chancellor To Extension

Jun 14, 2017 7:09 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have "every intention" of signing Kam Chancellor to a long-term contract extension.

"We would very much like to work something out," Pete Carroll said. "We're working at it. And that's really all we'll say. But we are working at it with every intention of taking care of business. It takes awhile. Things take awhile. His frame of mind and our frame of mind are in a really good place. And we're going to work hard to get something done. We'll see if we can."

Chancellor, 29, is entering the final year of his deal and says he has yet to hear from the team about a new pact.

"I trust their word," Chancellor said. "I trust what they say. I'll just let it happen when it's supposed to happen. And all I can do is control what I can control right now, and that's playing on the field and keeping that camaraderie together with my brothers and just keep building."

Eddie Lacy Makes Weight Again, Earns Another $55K

Jun 13, 2017 9:23 AM

Eddie Lacy earned a $55,000 incentive from the Seattle Seahawks on Monday tied to his weight, according to a league source.

Lacy's contract with the Seahawks includes a clause that could earn him up to $385,000 based on the results of seven different weigh-ins. In May, Lacy had to be at 255 pounds or less to earn the incentive.

On Monday, he had to be at 250 or less.

Lacy has been participating in OTAs on a limited basis as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

Seahawks Sign Austin Davis Making Colin Kaepernick Deal Unlikely

Jun 5, 2017 6:48 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have signed Austin Davis, which effectively rules them out as a destination for Colin Kaepernick.

Davis will join Trevone Boykin as a backup option behind Russell Wilson. The team waived quarterback Jake Heaps.

Pete Carroll praised Kaepernick last week but indicated that the team had no plans to sign him.

Davis spent time last season with the Denver Broncos. He hasn't played in a game since 2015, when he made two starts for the Cleveland Browns.

Seahawks Don't Have Plans To Sign Colin Kaepernick

Jun 4, 2017 11:12 AM

Pete Carroll believes Colin Kaepernick should remain a starter in the NFL, but the Seattle Seahawks don't have any plans to sign him at this time.

The Seahawks are searching for a backup behind Russell Wilson.

"Colin's been a fantastic football player, and he's going to continue to be," Carroll said. "At this time, we didn't do anything with it. But we know where he is and who he is and we had a chance to understand him much more so. He's a starter in this league. And we have a starter. But he's a starter in this league, and I can't imagine that someone won't give him a chance to play."

Kaepernick met with the Seahawks last week.

Carroll did not close the door on the idea of the Seahawks considering Kaepernick down the road.

"The doors are always open to opportunities," he said. "We're just going to try to do the best we can for our guys whenever the opportunity presents itself, and we'll see. But as of right now, we know what we're doing.

"He's a great kid. He communicates well. He's got a big world that he's living in. He's an NFL quarterback. He has other issues that he's concerned about. He's capable of being a championship guy. He's demonstrated that over the years. He's been up and down in his career some but he's shown enough upside that he can do that. I thought he presented himself really well."
