Antonio Brown Ruled Out For Game Against Broncos

Jan 17, 2016 2:44 AM

Antonio Brown has been ruled out of the Pittsburgh Steelers' game against the Denver Broncos with a concussion.

Sources said Brown told people in the building he was optimistic he could return, but that was hardly a guarantee considering the sensitive nature of concussions.

Brown has consulted an NFL-approved, offsite neurologist daily.

ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported earlier in the week that things were "not looking good" for Brown, who took a vicious hit from Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict in the final minute of the Steelers' 18-16 wild-card win.

Mike Tomlin Denies Rumor Of Steelers Giving Game Ball To Joey Porter

Jan 12, 2016 1:03 PM

Mike Tomlin rejected a rumor that Joey Porter received a game ball after the Pittsburgh Steelers' win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Porter was exchanging words with Bengals players when Adam “Pacman” Jones was flagged for a personal foul that set up the winning field goal.

Paul Guenther, defensive coordinator of the Bengals, called Porter “an embarrassment to the coaching profession,” while longtime Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth said he respects Tomlin and the Steelers but doesn’t have any respect for Porter.

“No class,” Whitworth said.

Ben Roethlisberger Has Sprained AC Joint, Torn Ligaments In Shoulder

Jan 12, 2016 12:11 PM

Ben Roethlisberger said that he sprained his AC joint and tore some ligaments in his shoulder in the second half against the Cincinnati Bengals after he was sacked by Vontaze Burfict.

“It didn’t hurt when I reached back to throw,” Roethlisberger said of his late-game drive. “But it was pushing forward to throw and then the end of the throw. So I definitely felt like I was shortening up my motion up a little bit, which is why we threw some screens, and couldn’t really get the ball down the field… I think it just more affected how I could throw it.”

Roethlisberger is still trying to work his way back from the injury.

“It’s definitely sore,” Roethlisberger said. “I think it’s a little bit better than it was, but we’re still going to just take it day-by-day.”

Roethlisberger is expected to play against the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round.
